Re: Weekend recap

  • Weekend was pretty good.  Saturday we celebrated my BIL's birthday at his parents' house on the lake.  Unfortunately his glasses unknowingly fell into the deep part of the lake and disappeared.  My mom took him and my sister to the nearest mall (45 min away in Ann Arbor) where they were gone for 3.5 hours getting him an eye exam and new glasses and he missed most of his birthday party.  :(

Sunday & Monday were mostly relaxing time.  Cooked out over NDN's on Sunday and Amanda & I spent a few hours over my friends' house with her and the kids yesterday.

We actually had a 60 degree day yesterday (and it was 94 on Friday - no wonder everyone in MI is sick!).

  • I had a lot of fun!  We went to a Cubs game and they won-which is always awesome.  I drank a LOT and of course, when they panned on us on TV I was peeing.  Ugh.  So my husband and 2 friends made it and I didn't.

We got together with the grandparents yesterday and surprised them with a Skype day with their niece who lives in DC and  my little brother who is in the Air Force.  They LOVED it.

D'oh!  I have to LOL about that because last year on Labor Day Mike & I were at the game and while we were in the concourse talking to some friends we ran into, the camera panned on us.  To this day they still re-air that segment and every time they do someone either calls, texts or Facebooks us to say "hey, we saw you at the game!"  It's actually gettin' kinda old.  LOL

  • It was good, till yesterday. My mother's Left Calve was huge and killing her. We took her to the ER and she has several clots. She will be admitted for 3 days.

  • @lilvero - my goodness, how scary! hope your mom is okay!

My weekend was restful, but not very fun, I guess.  Saturday, I went to my SIL's baby shower.  Boring, but at least I got to play with my niece a little bit.  We don't get to see her much, they live over an hour away.  Sunday, me and DH cleaned up the yard and the house, and then hung out at our friend's house, they had a small bbq.  Yesterday, we "labored" (hehe) in the house, cleaning out closets and the garage and the cars, etc.  All the things we needed to do, but never have time to organize.  So although it was productive, it wasn't very fun.  But I got to spend lots of QT with DH.  Oh well...now it's back to reality.  First day of school at my high school, and it's mayhem.  I missed the kids all summer though...I know crazy :)

  • The weekend was pretty good for me. Jeff was on call all weekend, so we relaxed for the most part. Friday night I think we were in bed by like 10! Haha! Then Saturday I got up and picked up the house, then made us baby back ribs in the pressure cooker (yum!), then we watched the game...of course, I got a new wine from the store earlier that day, so by corking it at noon...and drinking it all by game time at 2:30, I was only awake for about 5 minutes of the first half! Hahah! Oh well! It was nice to have a Husker game with JUST Jeff and I at home! Again, we were in bed by like 10 that night. Sunday I made us a really good breakfast and decided to be fun and use all my fancier dishes. Kind of nice. Then Jeff ended up going on the road rally with my friend and I. We did pretty good. Only got lost once!!! Yesterday I had my class at 10 am, then went grocery shopping in the afternoon. I really didn't want to get up for work this morning, but here I am anyway!

    Have a great week ladies!

  • I had a great, but busy weekend! On Saturday we went to a picnic at a friend's house, we had a blast and I have not laughed so hard for a very long time. On Sunday was my family's annual clam bake, which is always a good time. I also got to chat with my cousin's wife, who is pregnant via IVF, and she told me about their TTC journey and told me what to expect, what questions to ask and some Dr's names. Monday we went to a BBQ at my IL's house, which was very low key.

I only have to work 2 1/2 days this week, then it's off to the beach!!

  • I had a pretty good weekend! Friday night we stayed home and I went to bed early. PMS hit me hard this month! :-( Saturday I ran errands and did laundry early, then relaxed.

Sunday DH went to a hockey tournament to play in almost all day and I was on call the same timeframe so I stayed home and did some cooking and studying while the kids did their own thing.

Yesterday we met DH's cousins for lunch and then dropped the kids at their mom's so DH and I had the rest of the day to ourselves. I managed to clean the bathroom, vaccum all the upstairs blinds , sills and floors and then studied more and watched the Phillies TRASH the Braves. :-D It was fantastic.

  • Our weekend was very busy.  Friday night we picked up the apartment a little and packed for the weekend.

Saturday we got up early to go help at DH's grandma's house.  That night we went out with his siblings for his sister's BF's 21st birthday.

Sunday morning DH golfed while I helped MIL get things ready for the family reunion that afternoon.  Then we went to his other aunt's house for a bit before heading back home.

Yesterday we slept in and then went to pick apples.  When we got home, we did laundry and took a nap.

I was so not ready to get out of bed this morning, but at least it's only a 4-day work week. :)

  • We also did a lot of house cleaning this weekend, which feels great now that it is done!

We had some fun too!  On Friday night we saw the Shakespeare company perform Much Ado About Nothing, which was so funny!  Yesterday we went sailing in San Diego harbor - there was so much wind and it was such a blast (even though it was raining) :P

  • We had an amazing weekend in Eureka Springs! Upon returning home we encountered some family drama with extended family members but we refused to let it ruin our high from the awesomeness that commenced this weekend. Live music, fantastic coffee and food, tons of relaxation and family game nights...I couldn't have asked for anything better!
