Has anyone had a tree cut down?
By landscapers, that is.
We lost a tree in the back yard and called landscapers to remove it. It was a large tree, but only the top half fell, so they just chopped up what was already on the ground and left 15+ feet of tree stump still standing.
We just got a bill for $1,500, which seems like a lot considering they didn't do anything but put whatever was already in the yard in to a chipper.
I was expecting anything up to $1,000. But not $1,500. I guess that's what we get for not getting a quote first.
Re: Has anyone had a tree cut down?
We have. We paid $1200 to have a very large pine taken down that was super close to our house. I would think that if your tree was already half down it would not be nearly as much money. Did they have to use a crane at all?
Oh I just read they chipped it up? They didn't even haul it away? I would call them, and ask about it.
Thanks ladies. I think we are getting ripped off.
I just called DH and told him to call the landscaper and ask why it was so much.
My father recommended the landscaper because he has used him before. I called my dad this morning and he said it was $1,500 from the same company to have two trees cut down and completely removed.
Seriously? Our tree (actually, only half of it) was already down! And we got rid of the wood ourselves! Grrrr.
