How was your Labor Day weekend?

Did everyone get to do what you planned? Any good shopping finds? Any D&R projects? Did anyone get blown away thanks to TS Lee?

Re: How was your Labor Day weekend?

  • All we did was D&R Projects. We got the majority of our fence completed for the new house and I started building my custom closet in one of the bedrooms that will be my closet/getting ready area.
  • My weekend went pretty well. The shopping trip I had planned for Saturday was kind of a bust due to the rain. I made up for it yesterday and met Lanerbell at the mall for a little shopping. I went into The Loft for the first time and got a really cute shirt on sale.

  • We did a bunch of work on our kitchen this weekend. A couple years ago when DH redid the kitchen, he put up new baseboards and crown moulding, but never did anything beyond nailing it it. So this weekend I puttied all the nail holes and seams, sanded it, caulked, and painted them. Then there were several spots on the ceiling and walls that we had to repair, so that required a lot more sanding and then re-texturing.

Tonight I have to do another coat of paint on all the moulding. Tomorrow night I will be painting the ceiling, then Thursday night I will be doing all the touchups on the walls and cleaning/putting everything back together. DH is hosting a poker night Friday night so we have to be done by then!

  • It was fantastic! Sat was my birthday, so we drove down to Orlando, had lunch at an awesome BBQ place, went to Ikea (we got a chair and dresser for the nursery), saw The Help, and had dinner at Downtown Disney. DH got me a gift card to use for a prenatal massage, so I can't wait to book that!

Sunday, we hung out by the pool and did some swimming, went shopping at the outlets (we each got new watches, I got a new wallet, and we got a good bit of Caphalon bakeware cuz they were having an awesome sale!) We had a really good dinner at Unos where the server said we were such a pleasure that our dessert was on him. Score!

Monday, we went to Babies R Us and got some more stuff for the nursery and drove home.

    Very sad this weekend's over.

  • Friday afternoon, I started it off with a bang by hurting MIL feelings. I didn't do it on purpose. Meet a friend for dinner. Up with DS most of Friday night/ early Saturday morning because his stomach hurt. Thanks MIL! Saturday morning tried to catch up on some sleep. Saturday afternoon went shopping and to that middle school reunion. Weird... Sunday we visited a new church and did homework all afternoon. Sunday night I reorganized two closets and listed some stuff on Craigslist. Yesterday we found a roof leak, so spent the morning messing with that. Went shopping some more and watched Blitz last night. I didn't accomplish much, but I enjoyed relaxing.

  • We took off to Atlanta for the long weekend.  We did most of what I had planned.  I don't travel well these days, apparently, and was very tired most of the time.  I was so excited to get away, then was feeling yucky.  I felt so lame!  haha  We tried a few new local restaurants, which I love to do when traveling.  I went in search of sunglasses, but didn't find any.  (Atlanta was extremely crowded due to all the events going on this weekend....most small shops I went in I got overheated.....like I said, lame!)  We drove through the Lee remnants on the way home.  I'm loving that it has seemed to cool off the area....although, I know it won't stick for long.  It always heats back up before it cools down for good.  Oh, I also started Harry Potter...the first one...for the first time.  lol  I'm almost done.
  • I was home by myself the weekend. I mostly cleaned the entire weekend. I hung out with friends one night and went to my mom's another. Monday, I just rested. I even took a two hour nap!

  • It was okay.  I was still taking it easy and trying to get rid of the cold from h*ll.

  • Mine was pretty awesome. I did some damage at the outlets w/my mom on Saturday. I got a few new tops, a pair of jeans & a Kate Spade diaper bag for my sister. The rest of the weekend included laziness, a long run followed by mimosas on the beach & 2 BBQ's.

  • It really blew. Everyone was in a horrible mood and M was teething up a storm. I was really hoping for some quiet rained in days and we didn't get a sprinkle where we are. So I bought a leather jacket to make myself feel better. It's awesome.

Awesome to hear. I'm glad you like yours! She's having their 2nd girl next month so other than a few outfits I've bought and a few other things here and there she really doesn't need much stuff. I figured w/having a newborn and a 3 year old she could use a bigger diaper bag & getting her a cute Kate Spade one would be a fun gift for "her" rather than my nieces. I can't wait to give it to her. :)

  • Mine was great, it's not over until I wake up in the morning too!  I was off Friday, so my mom and I went shopping in Destin.  Saturday I had a baby shower, Sunday I had church and a baby shower.  Yesterday MJW and I went shopping and I came home and watched movies.  Today I had a hair appointment, I took a long nap, I went to the dog beach and then to a place where we could outdoor dine with the pups.  Now Im about to take a long bath and watch Supernatural reruns.

I was supposed to go camping with my dad this weekend, but the camper is in the shop.  I was disappointed that we didn't get to go, but the weekend turned out great anyways.

  • Mine was awesome. I got to spend some good time with my friend, play with their doggie, and do some shopping. We also hit up the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, which I didn't know existed. It was awesome and all September they are doing BOGO admission if anyone is looking for a day trip idea.
