Wedding Cake

So next weekend is our 1st year anniversary.  We have had our top part of the cake in the freezer for almost a year.  How soon before we eat it should I take it out of the freezer and put in the refrigerator?

 Thanks!

Re: Wedding Cake

  • I'd put it in the fridge 2 days prior, but I also don't have any experience!  We ended up eating our top tier last year because our freezer was so full, so we didn't keep it.

  • We do two days to thaw pretty much anything, but I think our fridge is colder than most.  If you want a more 'expert' opinion, can you call your baker and ask?

We weren't able to get ours frozen right away so we had to order a new one, but like Mush I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have had room in our freezer for it anyway.  Every weekend when we go grocery shopping it's a struggle to fit everything in there!

  • I'll be putting ours in Saturday morning (our anniversary is Sunday). I would do it Friday but we'll still be in FL.
