Wording help for shower invite
We are choosing to use cloth diapers and I asked my mom (the organizer of my shower) to please include a note that requests that no disposable diapers are given.
A. Do you think this is a reasonable request or tacky?
B. How can I word it?

Re: Wording help for shower invite
totally reasonable. i put the word out that we were thinking of it and no one got us disposables..... then we decided against cloth. whoops.
maybe "not trying to be snooty, but only cloth will touch baby d's booty! we are planning on cloth diapering". it made me giggle.
Maybe something like Baby D is going Green! In lieu of disposables, the D's have chosen to cloth diaper our little one! Obviously written way better than that. I'm not functioning at 100% today.
Did you register for cloth diapers (or can you, even)? What about putting a note on the BRU registry line too?
I'm thinking inevitably stuff needs to be returned, so I'd probably try to spread the word and not worry about it.
I put it on the notes section on top of our BRU/BBB registry it said " Baby D will be going green and cloth diapered if you are interested in stocking us up on those please see our cloth diaper registry at xxx.com"
I also asked for a couple packs of 7th gen which now collect dust and were a waste of money.
We also talked about cloth diapering with everyone in our family so they knew we were doing it, to the point of obnoxious.
fwiw we didn't get any cloth at our shower.
and also i would be happy to loan you six AIOS size small bumgenius diapers, milo doesn't fit into them and i would be happy to have someone use them until our next baby comes along.
We also didn't have it on the invite, but did put a note on the registry.
50% of our guests were from Central Pa where I grew up, and it's not as common to buy diapers in that region as it is here.
We didn't receive any cloth diapers from guests and I only received 2 boxes of diapers from all 3 of my showers (two family one work).
I think it's strange to buy people diapers because of sizing/fit/sensitivity.
I don't have any suggestions, but I bet The Eco-Friendly Family board on TB would have some great ideas for you

Thanks all! Erin, while your wording was super clever, my mom felt most comfortable with Jess's wording.
Lachute - I may take you up on that offer! I'm going to PM you my email address because I'd like to have a chat with you about diapers.
