Paper Bag Guessing Game (for bridal shower) - ideas needed!

I am hosting a shower this weekend and one game that I thought would be fun to play is the paper bag guessing game ... different items in paper bags and the guests have to guess what's inside just by feeling the outside of the bag. Anyways, I've got a few items in mind, but I'm stuck and looking for great suggestions of other items that could be fun and I was hoping that I might get some great ideas from you guys!

Thanks ~

Re: Paper Bag Guessing Game (for bridal shower) - ideas needed!

  • Is this a baby shower or a bridal shower?
  • Oh dear! That's sort of a key piece of information ... It's a Bridal Shower :)
    My bad ...

  • Is the bag supposed to contain wedding items or household items?

For wedding items I'm thinking garter, a flip flop (symbolizes beach honeymoon), a tiara, an engagement ring box.

For household items - maybe a candlestick, kitchen sponge, wine opener, measuring cup, spice container.

  • Is there a theme for the shower? That might help determine items. If it's just general "bridal shower," you could take any selection from what's below:

For a kitchen/cooking shower: whisk, measuring spoons, salt and pepper shaker, salad tongs, corkscrew, etc.

For an "around the house" shower: an item from each room, perhaps? Like a bar of soap for the bathroom, a (plastic) wine glass for the kitchen, a remote control for the living room, etc.

For a lingerie shower: perfume, slippers, bra, massage oil

Also, will these items be gifts for the bride? Or will they just be things you (or she or someone) already has on hand? If they're meant to be gifts, you may look for smaller items on her registry to use.

  • Thanks for the great ideas ladies! There is no particular theme and I never even thought of having some of the items be small gifts off the registry. It's too late for that idea now (I'm headed out of town for the shower tomorrow) but I will be keeping that idea tucked away for next time!
Again, thanks for the help! I can always count on everyone out there in Nest Land :)
