Highs? We had a nice long weekend in OC. I really liked our condo we stayed in, it was convenient to lots of things
Lows? Took us 4 hours to get home yesterday
Watch anything good? No-barely turned the TV on all weekend!
Eat/make anything good? Lots of great stuff. We ordered Pino's pizza in OC-it was outstanding
Read anything good? nope
FFCs, vents, comments? Sean would NOT sleep in a strange bed on vacation. I had to squeeze into a twin size bed with him every night until he fell asleep. Meanwhile, DH got a full size bed to himself.
How convenient for him that Sean will only go to sleep for me. First night back home was hell too. He flat out refused to stay in his bed at bedtime last night.
Lows? - I'm exhausted despite not being able to do any of the "heavy" work of moving. We've been up late working on the house for the past 3 nights, and had early mornings.
Watch anything good? - Nope... Not much time for it this weekend!
Eat/make anything good? - We went out for sushi for a friend's birthday on Sunday night, and it was delicious! I've also been craving fall things, so I tossed together an apple dump cake last night... Sooooo good.
Read anything good? - Nope - again, no time for reading this weekend!
FFCs, vents, comments? - I've got nothing!
... every single day of forever.
Someone's getting a little brother!
Highs? We met my parents for lunch on Sunday and that was really nice. My mom picked up shoes that I wanted at the outlets for me and saved me $30 over ordering online. I was excited.
Lows? Nothing except I wish I had cleaned the house.
Watch anything good? I watched a lot of the 9/11 specials at night. They are tough to watch on the one hand but the one about heroes of the tower was incredible to see the courage and compassion.
Eat/make anything good? Pumpkin cheesecake, my favorite and first of the season.
Read anything good? Nope
FFCs, vents, comments? Nope. I had an interview this morning and now I've been practicing tricks with Keefe and having a great day.
It was good- busy and productive by our standards.
Highs- went to 2 parties- one 3-yr old b-day party and my kids had a blast, then our community Labor Day picnic- DH took the kids in the pool one last time, in the rain. My parents came down and everyone had burgers and dogs, etc. Also I managed to finally sell something I had had on CL for a while- and DH returned the glider we had been borrowing to our old neighbors and the guy offered DH a 32" Bravia LCD that was in his storage unit- so now we have a "new" TV for our bedroom! score!
Lows- I guess the weather yesterday and attitude I got from my mom as a result.
Food- I made aborio rice with zucchini on Friday night along w/ eggplant w/ tomatoes and peppers. The rice was SO good.
Around the house I hung up a bunch of DD's artwork on the playroom wall- kinda making a gallery wall of her art. And DH and I made some major progress w/ our family room storage/shelving. We just did the Ikea Ivar stuff- but DH stained the upright side pieces to match the beams in our ceiling. We need to fasten it all to the wall to prevent tipping and hide cords, but it's a major improvement.
My vent is about my mom- she seems to think that because I don't work outside the home my house should be spotless- she is constantly comparing me to moms who work saying "and her house always looks nice, even though she works." Newsflash Einstein- when moms work, kids are in usually in daycare therefore not in the house all day to mess it up! also she is constantly bringing stuff to my house - STOP IT- we don't need anymore stuff, stop being part of the problem. If you don't like the way my house looks don't come over. Especially if you expect to be waiting on hand and foot. She was highly annoying yesterday- I invited them to our community party which started at 4:30, they came a little after 3 and at 4 she was getting all antsy about going to the party because she said she was hungry. DH's cousin stopped by unexpectedly w/ his GF and my mom was really annoyed by this for some reason- I had to take her to another room and tell her to get a grip and she complained about being hungry and I told her that was her fault, she knew the timing of the party and even if DH's cousin wasn't there she wouldn't be getting her dinner for another half hour anyway. Thank goodness she had brought a big bottle of wine to share because she was stressing me out!
