Anyone use one? If not, did you just move to a toddler bed when baby was big enough to get out of the crib?
Background: Jane is very tall, strong and loves to climb. I have a feeling it won't be long before she can get out of the crib (and fall onto the hardwoods - joy!) I am not ready to move her to a toddler bed at 15 mos old and was thinking of a crib tent. I'd kind of like to have it on hand so that if/when the time comes we're prepared rather than having to go days before getting one knowing she can get out of her crib, etc.
Re: BWLO: Crib Tent
We never moved when. Taryn never tried to climb out of her crib, but when she got big enough where that was a concern of mine, we converted her crib to a toddler bed.
We also had a hard time getting her to sleep in her crib, and transitioning her to the toddler bed worked better for us.
FWIW, Jack is very tall, strong, and loves to climb as well. He never once tried to climb out of his crib.
I just looked up crib tents, and I always thought they were used to keep cats out, not babies in. Huh, there's my new fact to learn for the day.
We just dropped Alex's crib down each time she looked like she was going to climb out, but in the end, she never did. We converted it a few months ago to get her ready for the next one, otherwise she may still be quite content to still be in the cage.
Abby started crawling out of the crib at 18 months. She has always been 95th percentile for height and we thought she would climb out sooner but she never did. We thought about the crib tent, but in the end we just moved her to a toddler bed. The crib tent bothers me, and I know someone who's kid got an arm stuck between it and the crib. It just seems way too much of a cage for me.

Monkey boy does the same thing. I'm not sure why he never tried climbing out of the crib. He is in a toddler bed now, and when he wakes up, he still usually stays in bed and calls for me, rather then getting out on his own. I don't know why he does this. Maybe he just knows that he is supposed to stay in his bed (or knows that he HAD to stay in bed when it was a crib) until someone comes and gets him? Who knows.
If I were you, I would just wait and see what Jane does. She may surprise you. But I would also put some sort of padding under her crib, just in case she does get ambitious. Pillows, a couch cushion, whatever. It will help to ease your mind!
This would be my suggestion as well. I listened every day for that "thud" of Alex hitting the floor after climbing out. I don't know why she never did, probably because I was expecting it and she hates doing what I expect. Add some extra cushioning to ease your mind and keep her caged as long as you can
This ... except Zac lacks height, but even with his brawn he hasn't busted out of his crib yet.
