What did you do ? How was it ?
hubs and I went to Palm Springs to celebrate our 3rd anniversary (which is tomorrow) We stayed right downtown, hung out poolside, did some shopping, had a fabulous meal, I sang karaoke, and we went on the tram and took a hike at the top.
Today we just chilled, picked up the pup from my dad and I went grocery shopping and I baked some soft pretzel bites with beer cheese.
all in all, a great labor day weekend.
oh forgot hubs also gave me a purse for our leather anniversary. I'm feeling totally spoiled and so lucky.
Re: How was your weekend ?
Well, honestly it wasn't the greatest. DH is still bedbound until his wound heals completely since we had a setback when he was up too much a few days ago. It probably got bumped when he was transferring from his chair to the shower. It's looking much better now. We were going to go to the beach on Fri but we'll have to wait. I did make a yummy homemade iced blended mocha on Fri and enchiladas tonight. I did some job hunting, resume making and contacted someone about being a reference since I'm now looking into working PT in a museum while I substitute teach. I also did some writing. There was a beautiful sunset last night (check out my siggy pics) when I walked to the drug store.
Oh and happy anniversary, C!

Happy anniversary!
I gotta say, mine was pretty sucky too. I'm not fishing for sympathy or anything, but dh was gone visiting his parents for the first half and the second I had the mother of all headaches, up all night feeling pukey, finally got myself to a chair massage at Whole Foods and nearly passed had when it was over. Had to lie on the floor... at Whole Foods. Yeah, not exactly my idea of a fun time. But, headache is gone and I've got a good book and all is now well with the world.

Ours was good but really busy. I don't feel like I got enough downtime...
Spent most of Saturday running errands and cleaning the house because we had guests coming.
Sunday morning, I got up early and went for a run. Then DH's brother and his girlfriend came over - the guys went on a bike ride, and the girls went on a hike with the dog. Met back up at the house for lunch and then two of our childhood friends came over too!
I gave the dog a bath, and then we all piled into DH's rental car - basically the size of a minivan, which led to all kinds of jokes about DH and I riding in the front with our four very noisy children in the back seats - and went to REI for a few things. We got me some new running shoes. I'm excited to try them.
We all went to dinner after at Little Star Pizza (so good) and then back home for dessert - upside down plum cake that was delicious.
Sunday, I made breakfast for us and the two guests who stayed over. Did some dishes and laundry and some other stuff. Vegged for most of the rest of the day, then went to bed early and watched some 30 Rock.
Yikes! Sounds horrible
I'm so sorry you weren't feeling well. Glad it's better now.
CF - Happy Anniversary!
Loved the long weekend. Got some running in, including a trail run and my legs are still sore
. Also did some grocery shopping, the usual cleaning & laundry thing. Last night we grilled steak, had fresh corn on the cob and fries, so yummy. One more week until DH and I go on our anniversary/his birthday trip to Disneyland, can't wait to get away.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
Nah, just these dang muscle tension headaches.
It was my birthday and we took the opportunity to have out 1st overnight without Q
We got all dressed up and went to dinner at Alexander's Steakhouse on Saturday, then we checked into the Heyes Mansion. On Sunday we slept in, had a leisurely Brunch and then went to the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz. We came home by way of Gilroy where we spent a little time at the outlets. Monday we slept in, checked out, took a walking tour of the mansion, and then went to the Wilder Ranch in Santa Cruz. We were just in time for a guided tour which was great. Then we met Q and my mom for dinner at DishDash in Sunnyvale.
sounds like you had a super fab time C
my weekend was super busy, but so much fun!
friday night me and the hubs had dinner at palacio in los gatos. (it just seems wrong for mexicans to be eating fancy mexican food..lol) oh well, the flan was delish as was the company of course. we then headed over to los gatos bar & grill and met some friends..good conversation and lots of fun
saturday was my cousin's quincea?era, which was really lovely. we didn't stay too long, but still had a nice time. later that night headed to santana row, saw some friends and met a couple that were SO cool. the husband gave me his business card and told us to find him on FB
sunday- lounged around a bit, then headed over to my parents house. my mom wanted to take the kiddo shopping for her birthday..so we went to the mall.
finally yesterday- the kiddos's 14th bday. she wanted to go up to SF and have lunch at the rainforest cafe (btw, skip it...overpriced and kinda gross food) we first went to the ferry building, had lunch, walked around a bit. then ended our day at ikea to buy her a (much needed) bed.
yup, that was the weekend. busy, but so much fun.
We spent the whole weekend at a friend's parents' house on Clearlake. OMGSOAMAZING. Boating, tubing, LOTS of drinking. And of course, we stopped by 2 wineries on our way up, so we have 2 delicious bottles of wine that I can't wait to tear into. One I have to save though. I bought it specifically to share with my friend who is visiting from DC in a couple weeks.
We got home around 4:00 yesterday and didn't do jackorshit all evening. Glorious.
Had a busy weekend as well!
Friday was spent doing errands and cleaning the house
Saturday-stuck at home waiting for the dryer repair guy and the wood panel guy . My dad came over and evened out some concrete in our backyard. We were supposed to have a contractor come out and do that but of all the people who came out, we got no, as in ZERO bids back. Ass hatz.
Then my sister & niece came over in the afternoon so we can do the final touches on my niece's bday. They left so my niece can get her 1st haircut and then returned in the evening for more stuff. DH was out gold prospecting for the day.
Sunday we bought our new couch and recliner!! YAY!
Yesterday, baked, cooked and organized our office.
This weekend was exhausting!
Thursday I worked from 4am-12:30 then went to the grocery store to buy stuff for a wedding cake.
Friday I worked from 4am-2:30 pm then came home to make cake and icing, fill and crumb coat cakes.
Then I had to get up at 12:45 am to finish the cakes before heading back to work at 4 am-1:30. Then I came home to stack and stake the cakes and deliver the wedding cake. Got home around 6 pm. throwing up and my feet so swollen from not sitting all day that I couldn't get my shoes off.
Just to get up Sunday morning at 2:45 am to go back to work. then IL's HAD to come over for Sunday dinner even though I could have given 2 poops about spending time with anyone but my bed. All the baby and I wanted to do was rest. But instead I got to come home and cook and clean up after dinner.
So today was my 8th day in a row working and I am ready to pass out.
Sorry for the vent. But it was a long stinky weekend.
This sounds like a fabulous weekend! We stayed at the Hayes Mansion once and loved it.
Omg, this is exhausting just reading this! Take care of yourself.
Dang girl... That sounds awful. You gotta learn to say no visitors! Or at least have DH just get some take out so you don't to cook and clean up.
My weekend was pretty great, busy, and one not-so-great part of it.
Friday night-we had friends over for dinner. Had some good wine and a nice visit. Saturday morning I ran my 10 miles which went very well. Saturday afternoon, I briefly attended my friend's mother's memorial service. It was very sad and I barely kept it together. Saturday night, we went out to dinner for our anniversary. Sunday morning, we played sand volleyball with friends then spent the afternoon pool-side with beer and a bbq. Monday (our actual anniversary), I went for a run then we went to the city. DH had found a cute anniversary idea, so we need to be by the water. Then we just made dinner at home. And here we are....another week in progress!
