I am eating candy corn for lunch.

And waiting for honeycrisp apples.

  • While in Giant yesterday, DH let out a yelp of joy when he saw Mellocreme Pumpkins on the shelves.  I am also eagerly awaiting the Honeycrisp apples.

  • We should take the boys apple-picking!

  • Pumpkin patch! We'll head up to Butler's early next month.

Ditto on the honeycrisp, although I'm trying to stay away from candy corn because I have no willpower around those things . . . I *will* eat the whole bag in one sitting.

  • Ooo - honeycrisps are in over in Springfield, VA at the cute little greenhouse: Nalls Produce (off beulah heading toward telegraph rd from the metro). They are very good about updating their Facebook page when they have a new shipment in too. I miss living near them. :(

It's okay we'll still keep you!  I find that many people that don't like pumpkin don't like a particular spice usually added to pumpkin stuff, since pumpkin doesn't really taste like anything itself.

And I agree with cheekywife on football, etc.  I also love boots and sweaters.  Today's weather is teasing that these are so close yet so far!

  • I am wearing an argyle cardigan and the slight chill in the air this morning felt so good! Can't wait for boots, tweed, corduroys, velvet, suede, sweaters...

  • Honeycrisp apples are here!!! Well, they're at Homestead Farm in Maryland. We picked a bunch over the weekend.

I will also confess to not loving the PSL. I much prefer the peppermint mocha.

  • For the longest time I DID NOT understand this board's obsession with Honeycomb cereal! Yeah, reading comprehension = FAIL!

And ditto the honeycrips being here. Spicknels farm in Beltsville has a ton of them (though I def. helped lighten their load yesterday).

  • I saw honeycrisps this weekend in our Wegmans.  I am a PS latte fan and had my first one this morning.  Mmmmmmm.  Their other fall flavor this year is salted caramel mocha which I can't wait to try!

  • I love most of the other things already mentioned- seasonal drinks, comfort food, football on TV, getting out my fall/winter clothes again. I'll eventually get into the fall mood, but for now, I am sad to see summer end.
  • Honeycrisp apples, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, apple cider...fall is my favorite season. Love the cooler temps, but could do without all this rain!

  • I just thought of my other favorite thing -- PUMPKIN BEERS!!!!  Yum!  We went to Total Wine this weekend and I got 8 different varieties to try.  I made a mini-bracket and we are having a taste-off some weekend soon.  I can't wait!

  • cheeky, I don't like pumpkin either. My mom is famous for her pumpkin-apple butter pie at Thanksgiving. It always smells so good baking, but I can not bring myself to eat it. The only pumpkin thing I've ever liked are the pumpkin muffins at the restaurant where I waitressed in college.

I can't wait for honeycrisp apples, though! They are amazing in pie!

Of course, after making it through most of the summer without hitting triple digit temps, they are predicted out  here for tomorrow and over the weekend. So, it will be at least another week before I start thinking about fall!
