What did you all do? Were you off all weekend?
So, I have to preface it with the fact that all my life Labor Day was spent with family... bbq at Huntington Beach, every year... a tradition. Well, most of my family is gone or moved away so that didn't happen. Mostly I just hung out with my special friend, had a low-key great time, relaxed, had an awesome workout yesterday (3 miles plus cross training, oye!)... couple of good meals out, etc... nice, easy, low key wknd... just what I needed.
Re: Holiday Weekend Recap!
I'm glad you got just what you needed Crystal!
I spent 4 days w/ Ashlee, David, & the twins! I came home Saturday night. Sunday I spent the day relaxing with my Nook and the dogs. It was nice to just relax and have some alone time. A had to work Sunday, but he got off a little early so that was nice. Today we shopped at the Philly Outlets, got some great deals, went out to dinner, went to a few more stores and then came home and I baked. I made a peach cobbler and two peach-apple crisps! My house smells awesome right now! I can't wait for Fall, it is almost here!
I'm glad you had a good weekend!
We went out camping in the bush from Friday until Sunday, which got rather interesting because it had rained a ton Thursday and Friday so the back roads we were hauling our trailer down were pure mud! It dried out and we had a good time though.
We came home Sunday and then did some yard work and relaxed yesterday.
This was an organizing weekend for me. I cleaned and reorganized the bathroom and closet... I'm so boring! lol
Saturday night we went to my dad's for a cookout which was fun. Sunday was church, lunch with the ILs and relaxing at home. Yesterday, we hung out at home most of the day and then drove up to the ILs for a cookout that turned into a cookin thanks to the rain and storms. We were supposed to get to swim in the pool and everything.
After everybody else left, though, M was all Let's get in the hot tub anyway. So we sat out there in the rain with a beach umbrella! It was funny and silly, but we enjoyed it after all.
I worked most of the weekend and had a sick baby to tend to. Pretty much it stank
Thankfully the craziness ends soon.
Glad you all had a great weekend!!
Saturday we spent some time at our favorite farm (which is now, apparently, a winery too!). Sunday we visited my sister and went to the ILs for dinner. Monday we hosted some of M's friends for the fantasty football draft.
We also spent a good bit of time cleaning up from Irene. Bleaching the basement = no fun.

Saturday I was at a mother-daughter tea at my mom's house with all her girlfriends and their daughters. It was fun! Then Sunday I just lounged around... David was working and I boarded the dogs because of the tea party, so it was strange! Then Monday we (David and my siblings) floated the river and went swimming at the end with the dogs. David is super sunburned and miserable, and I am still tired and my back aches from sitting in an innertube for 4 hours, and then throwing the ball for the dogs for another hour.
Best story from the weekend: My sister had goggles on and was going underwater. She is Dexter's "person" (don't ask why he loves her more than us, we don't get it either lol), and when she went underwater, he got so freaked out. So he went out in the river to try to find her and just kept paddling and searching. She popped back up BEHIND him, so he didn't see her and kept going, straight for a little set of rapids (that Maggie willfully goes down for fun, but Dex is our scaredy cat). So we yelled at my sister to start calling him because he was looking for her, and Dexter turned around at her voice but it was too late, and down he went! So then Maggie went after him (she's very protective of all of us in the water, no one can splash or she'll jet to them and try to "save" them), so then my sister panicked and went too. They all were fine, but Dexter was soooo PO'ed at us for laughing at him. He had to sit on shore with me for about 20 minutes of cooing and snuggling before he decided to be a happy dog again, ha.
Friday night I had my usual 3 hour long bi-weekly Friday night phone call with BFF. We used to gchat all day long, but now with her new job it's not possible and I miss her so much, we need hours every other week to catch up on the events. Saturday I was having a bad day, a really down, I-hate-deployment-everything-sucks kind of day. I decided a run what was I needed and headed for the gym. I ran 3 miles and left feeling a million times better. Sunday I caught up with family and mostly had a relaxing day. I did make it to the gym again though and knocked out another 3 miles on the treadmill. Monday was super productive, I scrubbed my house from top to bottom, I barely sat down all day, I was so motivated, I deep cleaned and made everything sparkle. Of course I had huge motivation to do so, the relator was supposed to come today to look at the house and list it, but she pushed it back until tomorrow. Now I just have to manage to keep it clean until tomorrow.
