I recently read your IKEA dresser makeover post.  I actually love that bedroom set (minus the bed, I wish the headboard was solid) ... anyway, the point I am trying to make is, is the set more espresso than black?  The description "brown-black" that IKEA gives is pretty vague.  I haven't actually seen it in person.  Also, I assume you had to purchase the set unassembled.  Was it difficult to put together?

  • Butting in... I was at IKEA yesterday and the furniture I saw that was "brown-black" looked just black to me.

  • Butting in... that is the dresser in DS room. DH and I put it together one day after work. I could have done it by myself, but it would have taken longer. I love the height on it!

  • Yep... Ikea's brown-black is unfortunately really just black. Although I've seen pictures of others and they all seem to vary slightly... some have more brown it it than others. Everything I've purchased though has been "black".

It wasn't too bad to put together... as long as you follow the steps and have someone helping you it shouldn't take more than an hour or two.
