Vegas hotel recs

Ladies who have been to Vegas, could you please recommend your favorite hotels? DH and I are only going to be there 1 night over Thanksgiving (just flying in/out of the airport for our hiking trip), so the room doesn't have to be super nice but not cheap as dirt either. Last time I went I stayed at the Excalibur, and I'd like something a little nicer than that.

Re: Vegas hotel recs

  • i've been to Vegas a couple of times, we always stay at MGM. It's resonably priced and pretty nice. We also want to try Mirage, NYNY, and Treasure Island. :)
  • The Signature is our favorite!
  • We were in Vegas last week and stayed at Planet Hollywood. I think we paid $69/night for our room. Next time we go we will stay at The Cosmopolitan. It's brand new and amazing! We've stayed at MGM a couple times and it's nice and decently priced. If you go with MGM stay in the west wing. The rooms are a tad smaller but more modern. However they are easier to get in and out of than the MGM because you don't have to walk miles through the casino. Any other questions feel free to holler. We love Vegas!
  • We stayed at Paris a while back and got a great deal on it on Expedia or one of those sites. It's nice, and I liked the location.

  • We stayed at The Signature when I went a couple of weeks ago - we got a good deal through a package we booked on Southwest. It was a super, super nice hotel [although a little far from all the places we partied at], and I'd love to stay there again. We'll probably stay somewhere closer to the middle of The Strip since that's where all the clubs were that we went to, but I second staying at The Signature. :)

Yay!!!  Did you hang out at the pool at all? I love that their pools aren't super busy and there aren't tons of kids running around.  And their beds? Oh baby!!

  • I'd say MGM or Mirage. The only thing I don't like about MGM is how far down the strip it is, Mirage is more central. If you're only going to be there one night, that may not matter too much to you. There is a LOT to see and do at the MGM and it has a wide variety of dining options. MGM is always one of the least expensive and it's a lot nicer than Excalibur.

Yes! Their pools were nice and quiet - it was glorious. Last time I went to Vegas [March '10], we stayed at MGM and saw how crazy busy the pools were there...The Signature pools were WAY better.

And the bed - holy cow the bed. I wanted to take it home with me. We're planning another trip for May, and even though it's a little far from everything, I want to go back there. I was pleasantly surprised with our stay there.

We basically remodeled our guest bathroom to have the same "feel" as the bathroom at the Signature. I have sooo many pictures of their rooms and decor - it is pretty sick.  The pink couches in the lobby - I want one SO BAD!

  • Thanks for the recs! It'll take me a while to decide (and see if any great deals pop up), but MGM Grand and Signature are definitely on my list to check out.
