I decided to start off our Wednesday post because I got some really great news today!
The last 24 hours have been hell. I went to a doctor's appointments Tuesday morning to find out that baby tested positive for neural tube defects in my quad screening. The doctor recommended an amnio...They are very quick to do them here and they are almost routine but I didn't really want to take that step since I knew a friend had the same results and her baby was fine.
Anyway, I was able to get into a special clinic this morning for a level 2 ultrasound and the doctor says the baby looks perfect. If there is a problem it is very small. He is going to do another ultrasound in 4 weeks but doesnt think the amnio is necessary.
And it's a boy!!
Re: Great News Wednesday!
Congrats on that news!
I'm working from home today. WOOT!
I love nothing more than sitting in my pj's and bathrobe while responding to emails.
Wedding stuff.
I went to an ED group therapy last night, and met other women with an ED (who all speak English very well, an unexpected bonus!). It's nice to know I'm not alone and now I have some other people to talk to that understand. I'm even meeting one of them that lives close at a new Starbucks that's opening this week!
Congratulations kt on the group! And great news about the ultrasound Kimchi.
I start field hockey training tonight and even better, I get to work with the England National Team keeper coach again!!! Yay. He makes me so much better and works me hard - I'm going to be sore tomorrow but so very happy.
Yay KT and Kimchi! Sending continued good vibes!
This week has been awesome, and I hope it continues! Monday I was honked at and giving a 'thumbs up' whilst walking to work -- I still got it! I can 10,000 GBP come in from a long shot funder and whislt going to collect another cheque a women stopped to explain that she loved my shoes.
I did a great exercise session yesterday and tried pilates for the first time in ages. Afterwards, the instructor told me my muscles must have remember everything because I did great. Yay! I hope this continues!
Congrats, kimchi! I was high risk for Downs with Bug and we opted for the CVS to find out ASAP, but it was a long week. What a relief to get good news today
Bean's first day of preschool was Friday, and Danes are big on gradual introductions, so we were only there two hours, during which she didn't seem keen on the whole idea of preschool at all. The pedagog suggested we come in with her for a few more partial days to help her adjust. It was enough time for her to get sick, though, so she missed Monday and Tuesday, and then passed the illness on to me and Bug. (There's good news coming, I swear. I haven't forgotten the point of this post.)
I woke up this morning frustrated that I didn't feel well enough to take Bean in again (not to mention Bug really shouldn't go out) so I asked DH if he could at least take her in for a little while and go to work late. He decided to take the day off and he's been with her at preschool for three hours now, texting me updates. It's going MUCH better than it did Friday. She's made a friend and they've been playing together and not freaking out. But the real miracle: my picky princess eater? Happily eating soup and bread!! I'm so excited!
So happy that everyone has good news
Mine's kinda boring...it's my birthday tomorrow and BF is coming home from NY to celebrate with me
No idea what time I'll be home from work with this dang rocket launch happening tomorrow...I have to be at KSC at 0430 until who knows when. But I don't care...he's coming home!
Oh and I had a really great chat with his mom last night...we had a little bonding moment
Yay!
Kimchi- that is wonderful news about the baby! It must have been so stressful going through all the testing, but such a relief to hear all is well. Add to that finding out the sex- you must be so excited!
I love good news posts!
My good news is that I passed my glucose test today! I was so scared, b/c my parents are both diabetics and I've had many doctors over the years warn me that my chances of GD were extremely high.
We had to change around our plans for Nepal and it works out SO MUCH BETTER this way! Originally we were going to fly from KTM to Delhi to Ashgabat. Well, Turkmen airlines changed their times, so the connection wouldn't work and we'd have to spend a night in Delhi. Since we didn't want to deal with getting a visa for India to leave the airport, we decided to fly back through Dubai a day earlier.
Now we get to stock up on stuff in Dubai before returning to Ashgabat!!! This means more homemade greek yogurt packets, canned pumpkin, junk food (wedding is over), peanut butter, almond butter... I'm so excited!
Plus, we can leave our extra stuff in Dubai and not have to worry about all kinds of stuff on the honeymoon. Yay!!!!
ETA: Edited to remove an extra mention of peanut butter. I said PB twice and while I'm excited, I'm not THAT excited about PB :-)
Great news kimchi and kt!
STBXH signed the settlement agreement--YAYYYY! I might actually get divorced in September
On Saturday I have a 6th date with the Engineer. We're going for a hike and picnic--I'm so excited!
Yay!! I am so happy for you! Enjoy date no. 6
I hope you really get to move on soon and leave STBXH and all of his drama behind you. (And hopefully he can get himself straight and do the same)
Such good news everyone!!! So glad to hear the good things going on in everyone's lives.
My good news is that I'm going to a natural mothering group tomorrow morning. It's not too far from our house and I'm excited to meet some other moms/pregnant women.
Great news Kimchi, ktk & MintChocoChip!
Not quite as exciting but I'm proud to report I'm improving my fitness level and not only did I swim 50 lengths at lunchtime but it wasn't even hard!
Let's hope I can get out of bed tomorrow morning ;-)
Yay for good news!
I'm at the gym again! After being sick for over two weeks it's nice (and hard) to be back. My lungs even cooperated.
