Athletic Types

Can you direct me to a brand of clothing that makes extra long pants? I have a couple of pairs, but they are too short so I always end up wearing capris when I'd prefer pants.

Re: Athletic Types

  • I get my jeans at Buckle. They make extra longs and I absolutely love them! They are the only jeans I buy anymore. I used to get longs from places like aeropostle but they always shrunk up eventually. I've had my 1st pair from Buckle for 2-3 years and they still fit great and are long! For dressy pants I get mine at Gap, but I think they just make longs but they work for me since I don't wear them too often.

Thanks - I will look into them when I need to get jeans. My OP was meant to be about workout pants. I guess I forgot to mention that!

  • Haha oh well. Honestly I typically wear athletic shorts or yoga capris to workout in. Partially bc I get really hot sometimes and partially bc I have freaking long legs that make it hard to find good long pants in that style. I've seen some nice ones at Target but haven't tried them yet.

  • Ditto on the Buckle. I wish I had discovered their jeans years earlier!

  • Oh I just saw your reply. Hmmm...I don't wear workout pants. I wear capris from target. Sorry!

  • They're a little pricey but lululemon is fantastic! They have 'tall' lengths in their bottoms and if you can find a pair on sale it is so worth it. They are comfortable and hold up very well.

  • Athleta makes short sizes (5'1 here! haha!) and I am about 99.9% sure they offer long lengths as well. It's probably not as good as lululemon (a good deal cheaper, too) but I love Athleta and have been very impressed with how my stuff has held up. They also have awesome sales and are associated with Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic so returns are simple and shipping is free on orders over $50.
  •  I don't normally wear pants to workout in but I do have some yoga pants that I wear around the house and they are SUPER long on me, and they are from VS.

  • I'm 5'10 and Under Armor pants are plenty long.

  • I'm 5'10" and I typically get my workout pants at Old Navy.  They're always long enough for me.

  • Long Elegant Legs and Long Tall Sally if you're looking for some super length (36"+ inseam). Pricey though.

  • Target actually carries some of their work out yoga type pants in tall. I was a little skeptical at first but they didn't shrink when I washed them!

  • I prefer UA for running/hiking/climbing and LuluLemon for pilates and yoga.

  • I've always bought men's shorts and pants for working out, and most of my stuff is from Adidas because I had a friend who worked there and could give discounts.  I've never had a problem with length that way, but if you like the tighter fitting pants for working out that won't work.
