Help Me Shop!

I need a pair of comfy boots, that are flat! I have been searching since last fall for the perfect boot. Part of me wants to break down and just buy the frye boots b/c I know I will wear them all the time and get the moneys worth out of them, but I think M might have a stoke if I spent that much on one pair of boots, and/or go out and buy something of equal value which would be the same cost as a weekend get away... Unless there is a Frye outlet I don't know about?? Anyway... thoughts on these?

Re: Help Me Shop!

  • Personally I like the last ones the best but I also like really dark brown leather so that could be it Wink

  • How much do you plan to wear them? I probably wouldn't get boots from Target.  I do have a pair from DSW that were cheap (bare traps) and aren't leather (but they fit my calves...) but they won't hold up for more than one, maybe two more seasons.
  • I like all of them (very cute!) but if you're going to wear them a lot, definitely don't go with a Target pair. While I love their shoes, I find they wear out quickly.

  • I really like the look of the third pair (I want something like them), but agree that if you will wear them a lot, you should go for something of better quality. I have a hard time finding tall boots because my calves are big, but I found some good, reasonably priced ones at endless.com last year. Free shipping both ways, too.

  • One thing is to remember different seasons... I will wear them from Nov-Feb, and won't be wearing them to work, so just weekend/travel wear. I know what you mean about Target, pretty much the only shoes I have bought from there are flip flops, b/c the rest are so uncomfortable. I don't know why I thought their boots would be any better. I looked at DSW last week and didn't find anything. I haven't tried Off Broadway. This is really hard when I am trying to stay under $100. Jo, I am checking out endless now.

  • I think nov-feb is more or less one season clothing wise; just rules out things like this which wouldn't be that practical in Atlanta anyway :)

These are really popular and I've seen them at Macy's (I'm sure you could get them on sale too)

Yes the first one, if we had another ice storm/snow storm, but we get maybe one of those a year!

Good call on the second ones! Amazon has them too and an excuse to got to Macys!

  • I agree, the red zipper is a no.  I saw that on a pair at Famous Footwear and Target last year when I was out searching for my tan boots.

Kohl's had a nice selection, that's where I ended up getting mine.  They are cognac colored riding boots.  But I've also considered getting the Frye boots too....

But of the ones you PIP'd, I like the first ones.

  • Out of the ones you PIPed I like the first pair the best. But I agree with the other ladies, for the boots, skip Target. You will probably have to spend over $100 to get a good pair that will last.
