Microfiber and Pets

I have two questions that I need some help with:

1 - What is the best way to clean microfiber furniture? Anyone have a product that they find works best?

2 - I have a dog, who occasionally leaves little messes around the house. I feel like I clean up after him very well and even after clean up, febreze and candles I feel like I can still smell that "odor". Anyone have any products or ideas to keep my home smelling clean?

Re: Microfiber and Pets

  • Invest in a steam cleaner. It is my favorite household cleaning item. They have fluid specifically for eliminating pet odors. I clean my carpets once a month or so and my microfiber furniture once every 6 months. :)

What kind fo you have? I need to buy one. The house I just purchased has white carpet!

  • For the dog, use an enzyme cleaner, like Nature's Miracle.

I purchased this at BBB and I love it. It easily removes my pug's hair from our microfiber couch.

  • Thank you for the ideas. We only have one room with carpet, the other rooms are laminate wood flooring. Easier clean up yes, but I think it may be seeping into the cracks of the laminate flooring and that is holding onto the odor. I'm worried that the only way to remove that is by replacing the flooring? :S

I would get a steam cleaner for the floor (like a shark? I think thats what they're called) and if that doesn't work, you can refinish the floor.
