Kasi/October Book

I'm finishing up the Hunger Games trilogy and am thinking I probably won't have time to do the Sept book but maybe next week I could start the October book...I think you said you picked it already...

Re: Kasi/October Book

  • Yup!  I chose Feed by Mira Grant.  I believe NBC is reading the book this month so some of you may already have it on your list to read or are already reading it.  I chose this since Halloween is in October and it seemed to fit well for that month.  It got really good reviews and a high rating on Goodreads.  It's in the horror, post-apocalyptic genre.

Interesting. Definitely not something I would pick up myself, but I'm looking forward to giving it a shot.

Kasi - Have you read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks? The author is coming to my new place of employment in November to speak and I was thinking about going, but need to read to book first. I'm just wondering if you liked it.

This has been on my to-read list for ages. I hear it is super interesting.

Kasi, that sounds interesting, I'll read anything :-)

I just recently started reading the horror/post apocalyptic genre.  It never appealed to me until I started branching out and trying new types of books.  I'm kind of hooked now.

I read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks a month ago or so.  It was a really good book but I have read reviews where people had a hard time getting into it because of all the science talk.  I am not much of a science fan but I found this book very interesting.  Yea, it was boring in a few parts but overall I was fascinated by the whole story, science and all.  It was much more than just science.  Much of the book spoke of Henrietta and her family.

I definitely recommend it.  At least try it out especially since the author will be in your area.  If you have some interest in seeing her then the book may interest you as well.
