s/o s/o Babies: funny reasons for having more

Just thought I'd add to the conversation with some random reasons I've gotten from my midwives and pediatricians that we should totally have more. First, they always assume that of course we will. My first post-partum appointment, my midwife was saying, "So when you have your next one, blahblahblah, but when you move on to number 3, blahblahblah." Wait, what? Did I ever indicate I wanted 3 children? Pretty sure those words have never come out of my mouth, which I said.

Then she's like, "Oh, well, you had such a good pregnancy though and he's so healthy." Oh, so since I had a healthy child, clearly I should produce another one.

And literally every time we go to the pediatrician, whoever we see announces that he is such a 'perfect/healthy/beautiful' child, they 'know' we want to have more of him and the question is just how many. As gratifying as it is to hear that, and I'm sure they say that to a lot of people, I'm not sure what producing a 'beautiful' child has to do with our desire to have more of them. Like we're under some obligation to the world to churn out a couple more from the mold now that we know it works? lol

Nevermind you have to birth them, raise them, and pay for them, they're just SO CUTE! More more more!

Confused Oh lawd.
