Hi! restaurants near Arden Hills?

Hello ladies! It's been a while since I've been on here....

I'm looking for restaurant suggestions near Arden Hills. A casual business friend will be working in AH for 6 weeks, needs food suggestions. I'm clueless - any help would be appreciated!

He'll do anything, but it's an expense account, so a variety of price ranges would be nice.

Re: Hi! restaurants near Arden Hills?

  • Red Robin in Shoreview is not far from Arden Hills. Great burgers. I don't even like hamburgers, but I LOVE theirs.
    Married: October 11, 2008
  • There's a Green Mill right behind the Red Robin in Shoreview as well.  Otherwise there's a subway on Hwy 96 and Lexington which is just North of the Red Robin and Green Mill (which are Lexington and 694).  There's Wendy's, and Jimmy Johns, and the Blue Fox on the South side of 694, as well as a Baja Sol, Davanni's, and Caribou Coffee, they're in a strip mall just South of the Cub on Lexington.  There's a Chinese restaurant as well but I don't know what its called.

That should be a variety :)...If they go South on Lexington and West on E there's also a new McDonald's.

  • there's Big Ten over on Hwy 10, just north of 694. Ditto Janell's suggestions as well.

There's also Taste of India and Axel's. They're technically Roseville, but on the border. Cleveland and County Rd C.

Barley John's is also good, up on old hwy 8 and county rd d.

There's a bunch of things near Rosedale too, which is close to Arden Hills. Willowgate is my favorite chinese restaurant hands down, but there is also: Davannis, La Casita, The Good Earth, Red Lobster, Wendy's and Taco Bell back there.

Even the stuff near Har Mar wouldn't be a bad drive. Old Chicago, Smashburger, Chianti Grill, BWW, Perkins and whole lot of fast food joints.

  • I should have been a bit more specific - I doubt he'll be a fan of chain places, especially national chains. Local chains might be OK, but he is a fan of trying new places and doesn't typically do fast food chains.

Thank you all for the suggestions - keep them coming if you can!

  • Kozlak's Royal Oaks is fairly close, in Shoreview. It's owned by the same family that owns Jax Cafe in NE Minneapolis. They have lunch, dinner, and happy hour. I've been there a few times for Sunday brunch and it was good. Definitely "old school", though.

  • If you want "non" chain restaurants then there isn't going to be too much...when you get into the burbs its more chainy...that's why I loved living in St. Paul, I had so many more choices, Groveland Tap, St. Clair Broiler, Nook, etc...the burbs are big box.

    sadly, this.

Although the Byerly's restaurant is pretty good (there's one at Snelling and C). Oh, and Countryside if he likes chicken (Snelling and C2).

    There's also Grumpy's (it's near Byerly's and Countryside)...I haven't been there since it's been Grumpy's though (it's been about a million different restaurants since Lido's closed...and Lido's was amazing, I still miss it).

  • There's a new Japanese place on 96 and Hodgson.  Red Ginger is a decent Chinese place off Cty J in Shoreview.
  • I highly recommend Taste of Scandinavia in North Oaks.  It's a great breakfast/brunch place on 96 and Village Center Drive.

They have great lunches and dinners too.  The menu is on the smaller size, but the quality is really good.

I was just going to suggest Panino's if they were still around.  I haven't been out that way in a long time.

    I love Tria!

I've heard this place is over hyped, and expensive...a friend went there recently and said they'd wished the just went to Applebee's.

  • Thanks ladies!

The person I am asking for his from L.A. and is a major foursquare nerd. He'll love checking into many of these places.

  • Blue Fox - 3833 Lexington Avenue North.  There is bands at night, pretty normal sports bar, but is popular.

    Lindey?s Prime Steak House - 3600 Snelling Ave N

I always like to try the fast food of the area.  CA doesn?t have a  Hardees (396 Hamlin Ave N.)  Or Taco John?s (3338 Rice Street).
