LIP for teachers and parents

Re: LIP for teachers and parents

  • Thanks for sharing!  I'll be sharing with some fellow teachers tomorrow.  Wish parents would really understand that.  I had a parent last year who didn't trust me, made excuses for everything her child did, and by the end of the year I was SO happy to see them all go.

  • I read that last night and wished I could include it in my weekly newsletter. The parents around here drive me insane. They town I teach in should be renamed CrazyTown. For example: I got a note today threatening to pull her child out of pre-k if he gets hit again, yet I didn't know the child had been hit at all...I have loads of crazy stories already this year (only 5.5 weeks in)!

I had a similar type of situation last year with bullying. Parents got a lawyer involved and I had absolutely no idea that there was any bullying going on because the student never told me and I never witnessed anything. Totally blindsided.

What kills me is that these kids are 4 (i.e. clumsy and roughhousing) and we were at recess (apparently) because that was the only time that we were with the 2 classes that the kids came from.

  • I hadn't seen this yet, thanks for sharing! So true- I love it!
  • Yeah, we have CRAZY helicoptor parents at my school. It's a public school, but kids have to apply to get in. Parents need to meet my fist sometimes.
