Banks for people with bad banking history
No Judging..... 
I have serious bad banking history...just from stupid "oopsies" and then hundreds of dollars in overdrafts that are impossible to afford. I owe two banks right now, and honestly I am working HARD to get them paid off. But I really need a bank account.
Do you know of any banks that will open accounts to people with bad banking history?

Can you not pay off one of the banks you're currently banking with and continue to use that account?
No the accounts have been closed. Stupid mistakes/choices.
I really want to be added to H's account. I think we are going to try it, but last time we tried I was denied. But that was before we were married. Maybe we'll have a better chance now?
unfortunately I think your best bet is to try to get on your H's account. Honestly, I would take every last penny we had and eat ramen for months to immediately pay off anything we owed, ASAP. Good luck

I work in the industry. Pretty much no bank will add you while you owe another bank money, even if it is a joint to your H's account. You can see if you can get added, but I am pretty sure they will decline you.
You can ask where ever your h's accounts are if they will let you sign your checks over to him. Some banks/cu will let you do that, so at least you can cash checks with out paying a huge fee. GL!
