I just got back from the eye doctor and let me say this: thank goodness for insurance! I currently have reading glasses and knew my eyes have been struggling for about a year with distance, especially at night. Well, turns out I had to get glasses for distance, too. I decided to just switch them back and forth instead of going the bifocals route. I'm way too young for that. So I picked out a super cute pair that were actually fully covered by my insurance; that NEVER happens!
Well, needless to say, without my eye insurance, I easily would've spent over $400 on the exam and the glasses.
Re: Thanks insurance!
Oh what a nice surprise
Mine only covers up to $150 for the frames and $50 for the lenses.

I can relate to the "Thank God we have good insurance thing" - not with glasses though. Last year I was in the hospital with blood clots and have needed to be on an inject-able blood thinner ever since (especially since being pregnant). Well it is a VERY expensive drug.... The first time I went to pick it up I was prepared to pay and arm and a leg for it. When I was checking out the lady behind the counter told me that I only had a $15 copay. I about cried!!! Then she showed me my reciept and it said that my savings were over $2000 (for a 30 days supply mind you!) after insurance!!! I am so happy that we have good insurance through DH's employer!! I know there are a lot of people who have to pay a lot more for their meds.
