Gross question just wondering if I'm the only one...

I'm sorry if this is just too gross but I'm curious, and when I tried to talk to a friend about it she looked at me like I was crazy. Does anyone else just feel nasty b/c of your discharge? It's not that it's abnormal or anything, it's just gross to me. I wear panty-liners everyday, but it still makes me feel disgusting. How do y'all deal with it?

Re: Gross question just wondering if I'm the only one...

  • Mine actually embarrasses me.....especially when it comes out of nowhere! I hate the feeling it brings afterward when I can't just go and change my underwear. Not that it's a lot of it, I just don't like the damp feeling.

  • Cotton underwear helps.

Discharge is normal; it's your vagina's way of self cleaning.
  • a healthy vagina has its normal discharge...

..now if the discharge is green/yellow with a horrible odor..then that is GROSS and DISGUSTING...

    otherwise...it is very normal...

  • I do the same thing... Panty liners everyday that I have medium to heavy discharge! The one that gets me the most is the ovulation discharge where its like giant clear snot coming out. I only recently started experiencing this when I got off bc. Yuck! I only let DH go down there when its a light day bc I'd feel bad for the guy having to deal with that.

  • Your definitely not the only one.  I do find that cotton panties are very helpful or at least panties with a cotton liner.  Thongs seem to make it worse for me as well.  If i use a sprinkle of summers eve deodorant powder or something that helps as well.

  • likewise! I wear pantiliners often, but sometimes its best to let yourself 'air out', for health reasons. Pantiliners restrict breathing in that um, region, and can create a moist area for bacteria and stuff to grow out of control.

So at the end of the day, know that you are perfectly normal and use pantiliners in moderation!!!

I did not know that, so thank you very much!! I know the last thing we all want is issues in that area. lol

  • I don't find it nasty, gross or disgusting; but I don't discuss it with my friends either.

  • I don't understand you or any of the women who replied finding your discharge gross!  Is your saliva gross?  I don't get it!  Why do you feel nasty because of it?  Discharge is isn't abnormal at all, so maybe you need to work through the issues that make you feel disgusted by it and by yourself.

  • It's not gross to have a normal, healthy vaginal discharge, especially during ovulation.  It's good because it shows your body is working properly.

  • Like a previous poster stated a healthy vag cleans itself, ovulation discharge is also normal it means your ready for a baby

If your discharge is chunky and smells like a bread factory, or it is green/yellow or foul smelling then it's time to see the doctor.

Also be careful with wear concelling things like panty liners, nylon underware(even lacy undies) overwashing or taking multipule showers a day and douching because it can lead to yeast infections or worse.

Those of you who have heavy discharge I would also speak with a gyno about it you could possibly have an infection

  • OP, I feel the same way. I know it's normal, but somehow it still bothers me.
  • I think the reason why some people find it gross is because no one talks about it. Or if they do, they have a reaction like your friend's. Such taboo.

Personally, I don't like the feel of it, because sometimes it feels like I wet my pants. That's the only reason I don't like it. But I know that it IS totally natural and healthy, so when I do see it, I don't worry.

  • This post made me giggle - I feel the same way .... especially when I have a really cute new pair of undies - so annoying!  But as long as it's "normal".
