Going to a wedding this weekend, Rented the Runway, and did not opt to get two sizes of the dress, since I measured myself and was fairly confident that the size I got would fit well.
It fits great on top, on bottom it needs some help. There is some puckering due to snugness in the rear/hips.
I'm thinking that Spanx will do the trick to suck me in and smooth things out. Who has used them? In your experience, did it reduce your dress size at all, or just smooth things out? I'm looking at getting these super-duper slimming ones because the draping in front covers any mid-section lumps.
Re: Tell me about Spanx
This.
Spanx never dropped me a dress size, but it did make snug dressed look better.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
I got the Higher Power (goes from under bra to mid-thigh) after J was born to help with slimming/smoothing under dresses and sucking things in.
I ordered a dress for a wedding a few months ago and accidentally got a size smaller than I meant to (6P instead of 8P in J. Crew). The Spanx totally made the difference between being able to zip and not. Plus it helped my thighs from rubbing together. I say go for it.
