Approval on 8/15, with a 30 day short sale addendum. LO/REA said holiday adds 2 days (wth?) so our 30 day's is up 9/15 according to them. Locked in our 30 day interest rate (4.5%) and everything is good to go.
Appraisal was ordered on the 15th..first person declined to do it after sitting on it & thinking so the appraisal didn't get completed until 8/24.
Water was supposed to be done 8/25 didn't get done until 8/30..failed for lead..repeated (don't know the date) and SHOULD be back tomorrow.
LO has been reassuring all along with "no worries" 3 days max underwriting we will be good to go.
I tried to call him yesterday/email to tell him about the water and see what our options are if it fails again, etc & he doesn't answer. I called his assistant today & asked what was going on..and she said, "oh, hes out of town."
WTF.
How are you going to go on vacation and not tell someone who is supposed to be closing next week.
AND AND AND she said, no way will be close by next Thursday because USDA is taking 2 weeks right now (that was her "good" news?) opposed to 30 days.
I reminded her that we didn't have 2 weeks between today & next Thursday.
That seemed to confuse her.
She said she would call me back ASAP after talking to him...
no call 5 hours later.
I called her & supposedly she told someone who spoke with him to tell him to call us.
WHAT THE F!!!!!
I already took off work & we had to pay a rush fee for the water bc they didn't come out when scheduled.
Worst.Experience.Ever.
Our rate is going to expire/or we're going to have to pay for it or whatever.
I just can't believe that even as recent as last Friday he told us not to worry & that we would make Thursday easily.
FML.
Re: vent..Vent...VENT!!!
If it makes you feel any better, I've never met anyone (or read any stories on here) from anyone who had a smooth process.
I think we all lose a couple of years off our life when we buy a house.
Hang in there, it will all work out!
