I don't normally judge on wedding invites, but this one deserves a

We received an invite yesterday from my cousin (addressed: Rachel and J no less). I am looking through the cards and they had a card with their knot wedding site inviting people to keep aprised with the wedding stuff (wierd, but not flameful). On the back of that card they actually put a sticker that said "No registery information. Cash donations toward the purchase of a home preferred." Come on now - be happy for whatever is given to you, asking for something you clearly cannot afford is so flippin tacky! It is also in big, bold lettering on their wedding site. *Note: to their credit they are having a very low-key reception at the Elks lodge, at least they are saving there.
Re: Wedding Invite Side-Eye
I am guilty of including the wedding website info on a seperate card with my invites, though (It was printed at the bottom of our directions card). The site did have our registry info on it, but it wasn't on the main page, or anywhere really prominent. Our website was mostly for travel & accomodations info since we live in the middle of nowhere, and also included pictures of us & info about our wedding locations/attire/things to do in the area, etc.

I don't think that this is a guilty thing - just not something I have seen before. I see nothing wrong with that. I don't have a big problem with registery info either, but just a blatent plea for cash is just so wrong!
What I find funny is that they call it "donations." That's not a donation. A donation is for something charitable. This is a gift.
Yep - side eye.
I think I'd go buy them silverware on purpose.
THIS!
