East Coast Girls...Flooding?
Is anyone else in the middle of the great flood like we are? All of this rain is CRAZY!! My 15 minute drive into work today took me 40 minutes and I had to turn around twice because of roads that were closed. Most of the schools are closed and some areas are literally impassable....in one town the kids had to spend the night at school b/c they busses couldn't get them out in time and the parents can't get in. I'm glad I'm getting out of dodge and heading to the beach tomorrow

Our bedroom flooded last week after Irene, and we just got everything put back in order (except our bed frame so we have the box spring and matress on the floor).
Woke up this morning to **squish**
Flooded again. Effing A.
We emptied the room, pulled up the carpet again, and my dad was going to work in there today to get all the water out. On the plus side my brother left for school so we can stay in his room however long we need to and won't need to sleep on the couch.
Needless to say I am waaaaayyyy over all of this rain.
Booo that sucks! I'm so sorry! That's nice your dad is able to take care of it. I'll send anti-rain vibes your way so it doesn't happen again!

No rain since May? THAT'S IT! IT'S SETTLED! I'M MOVING TO SAN DIEGO!
I've had it with the Northeast
Yeah, girls, I like a good rain (it's relaxing when it patters against the roof and windows), but er...yeah. A little too much!
On the plus side:
Our grass is full and 100% green again, not brown...um, so that's really it. Everything is sucky. We have a leak somewhere in the basement that we can't find, but our carpet was damp after Irene, then started to stink to high heaven. Just as we were about to have it dealt with, this new wave of rain began. More leak, which will mean more stink. I'm done. Needless to say, the carpet is getting axed (shame, it's only 5 years old), and in is going some kind of tile. I hate that stinky smell :-(
Oh yeah - and we still have to find the source of the leak...ugh!
