Darian's been consistently sleeping at least one 4-5 hour stretch every night for the past two weeks. In fact, this weekend he had his first 6 hour stretch.
So it was terribly frustrating when he was kept up by some really bad gas last night and waking up every 1.5-2 hours ALL NIGHT long.
To make matters worse, V had an interview this morning at 9 for a job he really wants. V's been able to stay home most days since Darian was born so it really sucked that Darian had to be restless on the one day that V couldn't sleep in.
Anyway, V went to the interview. He said it went pretty well but he was disappointed that there were a few times when he was just too tired to think straight and answer the questions to the best of his ability. I was afraid he'd be annoyed and upset.
And yet, as soon as he walked in and saw the little guy smile at him, he dropped everything to sit down and play with Darian. I never see such big smiles from V as when he is playing with the little guy.
I'll be honest. When I was pregnant, I was afraid of the change that a baby would bring into our relationship. But it makes my heart sing to see them smile and laugh together.

Re: Why V is amazing (kinda BR)
Oh Ringy, this seriously brought tears to my eyes. I admit it is the best feeling ever when you see DH's interact in such ways with their children. I cherish all those moments.
Lots of vibes to V that his interview went well and that he gets the job!
When DH gets home he spends plenty of time with LO (if the little guy is still awake at that time of day). Joseph just lights up when he sees him. It is beyond adorable.
I had the same concerns as you. Our marriage took a bit of a hit, but it really wasn't due to LO's arrival, it was because of our living situation with FIL and BIL under our roof.

Aw, yay! I absolutely love seeing DH with Olivia so I know exactly how you feel. It's such a special feeling and I'm glad V is enjoying fatherhood.
Aw, this is so sweet. I agree, there is nothing like it. Emmett watches for Matt at the front door and starts squealing and laughing when Matt walks up the steps.
Sending lots of vibes that V got the job.
Also, off topic, but I saw your blog post. Have you tried a carrier? Emmett lived in the Moby when he was younger. I was able to snuggle while still getting some things done. Just an idea. And trust me, I still struggle with getting anything done around here. Even though Emmett can entertain himself for awhile, I can't help but join in and play with him

We have an Ergo with the newborn insert which I've used a bunch of times, but to be honest I find it a little cumbersome at the newborn stage. I wish I had a Moby or Baby K'tan but I just haven't had time to go try it out and get it. He's growing pretty fast though so I'm hoping he'll grow into the Ergo without the insert soon.
