Anyone want to buy a house - with a pool!
(In the basement)?
Ugh. We spent the hours from 1:30 to 5:30 last night bailing and running a backup pump to keep the water out of the basement. Our drain is on the outside of the house - walk out basement with stairs leading up. Drain is at the bottom of the stairs. The brick retaining wall was shooting fountains of water out into the drain and it couldn't keep up so water starting coming into our basement. This in addition to the sump running constantly.
I'm so done with owning a home. Renting seems so nice and easy now.

Sorry! We had water today as well, but not nearly as bad as that! When you are done with all this, try getting the drain snaked - made all the difference for us. Soot gets trapped in it and it backs up. We also had the wall patched in our walk-out stairwell and that made a world of difference.
Good luck!
