Looks like my Dad will be getting a new car

My uncle works at this dealership and my Dad's car is there for service. Of course it's the newer Explorer that's there and not the old one that just hit 300k miles.

  • Holy moly!

We're fortunate enough where the ground is saturated but we have no flooding.

  • Yikes!  That is just crazy.  On the bright side, at least he gets a new car (even though it's a lousy way to get one)?

I'm up in central PA and we're only about half an hour from Hershey, which got slammed yesterday w/ unreal flooding.  Really, this whole area is struggling w/ flooding - almost all schools in the area are closed today, businesses are closed, etc.  I was watching DH's cousin's little girl yesterday while he hauled as much out of their basement as he could (they're only a few miles from Hershey), and watched the creek at the edge of their property (maybe 50 yards or so from their basement door normally) creep closer and closer.  When I got there at 10, it was still back where it normally is (although swollen), and by 12:30, it was IN their basement.  It was ridiculous to see how fast it flooded.  By the time I left at 1:30, it was just below the bottom step in their basement, and at 5:30, he texted DH to say that they had been evacuated - and this is a home that has NEVER flooded before.  My BFF's family has been evacuated from Wilkes-Barre, too.

This picture of Hersheypark just blows my mind:
