So it's our anniversary month so why not reminisce about our relationship.

Re: Engagement
We met at a party. I was going as my roommate's wingman because she was meeting a guy at the party that night. J was also there and "a little birdie told him I thought he was cute" and his friend told him he needed to talk to me. Well, he finally made his way around the fire pit to where I was and we started talking and then we went to play ping pong that was set up in the garage for the next 2 hours.
We dated for 7ish months when he proposed. Our dating song is/was "Then" so he brought me back to the spot he met me (luckily those friends were having a luau party so it worked out well) and after we danced to our song, he popped the question!
We were engaged for about 13 months. I wanted to be completely finished with school and start my career before tying the knot andplusalso, I wanted more than 6 months to plan a wedding.
I seriously can't believe it's been a year!
For us this is quite the story. We actually met in about 10 years ago in high school, an aerobics class to be specific.
haha! I was a junior and he was a senior. We actually went to a roller rink for our first date b/c we were late to the movies that would get me home on time and there is not a lot to do in our little town. We dated for about 6 months before my mom made us break up. LONG STORY. We did, but ended up sneaking around to see each other during my senior year. I ended up moving to my dad's right before prom so we could date in the open.
We dated for over 6 years before he proposed.... I was SO ready. We went on a vacation to a beach town where his dad lives and he wanted us to watch the sunset on the beach and proposed there. Our engagement was just over 2 years before the wedding. Had to save up the money, since we were doing a lot of it on our own...
The year since has FLOWN by though...
For example, How you met? How long did you date? How/where did he propose? We met online. The interesting thing is, a month or two before we started talking, I had been chatting up another guy. I thought things were going well until he disappeared. After a few days talking to DH, he goes "do you know a guy xxxx?" Turns out, the first guy I'd been talking to was DH's best friend - his computer had crashed and he'd had trouble getting a new one.
DH and I dated for 6 years before he proposed on our anniversary trip to Vegas. We actually had a wedding on Saturday, our actual anniversary was Sunday which we spent packing and left for the trip on Monday. I told DH he had to take me to a fancy restaurant - dress clothes required! and then ended up having to pick the place myself (Stratosphere's Top of the World). DH got caught up in the metal detector and I bought his lame story that he forgot to take out his keys (why would he have his keys in Vegas?!?). My sister then called for computer help while we were waiting for our table - I told her not to call back because I really wanted DH to propose - even though I didn't think it would happen. After the waiter cleared our dinner plates I turned to Nelson and said "wouldn't this have been a great place/way to propose?" And he goes "are you sure you want to marry me?" and runs through the typical vow questions while reaching for his pocket. I was in shock and mentally berating myself for "ruining" it (he was waiting for dessert) and to this day DH is disappointed I didn't cry.
How long were you engaged? We were engaged for 2 years.

We met in 7th grade and have been friends ever since. We started dating in 2002/ We dated for 8 years.
He proposed in the empty living room of the house we just closed on. He sent me to the fridge to get champagne and there was a ring box in there too.
We were engaged for a year and almost three months.
How you met? We met at a bar that we both went to very often. I was standing on the stairs and my friend and I saw these guys and we were wondering where we knew them from. I decided to go up to them, turns out that it was just from going to this bar every week. We talk a little, left that night with nothing happening. The next weekend I went to the bar and he was there. We all decided to go get food after leaving, he came to my friends house we talked exchanged numbers. From then on we would text if we were going to the bar thats really it
. He asked me to a Red Sox game, he had an extra ticket.Prior to the game, we ended up hanging out on a wednesday night, all day thursday. That Friday when we all met at the bar he told me "you know your stuck with me for a while, right?" After that the rest is history
How long did you date? 5 years
How/where did he propose? This is kinda a funny story. His grandfather gave him my engagement ring. When we moved to Florida he took the ring with him. I one day found out he actually had a ring.
I knew he want to propose in the Keys. We had been talking about getting engaged heavly for a couple months. We had a trip planned for the Keys. I told him I did not want him to propose on our trip because he would ruin my trip since I would be waiting for him to do it.
One Sunday I had worked a double ot the restaurant, he met me there we watched football and had some beers when I was done. We went home took the dog out side. I was on the computer outside on FB and he starts talking about how much he loves me and always wants to be with me and then gets down on he knee and proposes. (1 week before our Keys trip)
It was in 2009, the day the Red Sox got elimated from the playoffs AND the Patriots lost that day. When I went to work on Monday everyone was like you must be so sad, what a bad sports day for you. I was like no, I got engaged so I don't care,
How long were you engaged? Like 2 weeks under a year we got engaged Oct 11th got married Sept 25.

We met while working together at a discount retailer that you all know and frequent. He was my supervisor. We met in 2007 when I started there, but we didn't start to date until November 3, 2008.
We started dating and we clicked right away. It was just so natural and easy and we were both very happy together (my BFF calls us "throwuppable"). DH proposed in July 17, 2009, so we were together about 8 and a half months when we got engaged. He proposed at a barbecue at our friends' apartment. We had been talking about so I knew it would be coming, which was why he did not want to do something big and extravagant. He wanted me to be totally surprised, and I was. On our way home, he told me about the speech that he had planned to say, while in reality he barely managed to ask the question. It was really sweet.
We got married 14 months later on September 18, 2010.

How/where did he propose? In South Lake Tahoe. We were in our hotel room with a bottle of bubbly. He got down on one knee and popped the question.

We met in high school in 2003, we dated on and off all through high school and took a large break after high school then got back together and have been together ever since.
He proposed at home in our apartment, very casually in our living room. There was no getting down on one knee or anything he pulled the ring out of his pocket and turned to me and said "so will you marry me?" obviously I said yes and we were engaged for 18 months and had the wedding on September 25th!!!

We met on a cross country car rally that he organized. There were 100 paricipants/50 cars, and my co-driver and I were the only all girl car team that showed up. We all drove from NY to LA. It was a great bonding experience, but we were just friends for a while. Over the next year we got to be better friends while talking online and occasionally visiting. We lived 250 miles away. Eventually sparks flew and he moved so that we could be together. After 3 years, I moved with him to be close to his family.
After 3 more years, he finally proposed. He did it in our favourite wine and cheese shop, close to our first place. It was quite a surprise to me since it was far from where we currently lived and after he popped the question, 40 of our closest friends and family emerged from the back storage room. How you met?
We met shortly after midnight on New Years at a club in the city. One of my friends was dancing with him and thought we would hit it off, so she introduced us. We thumb wrestled, he asked if he could kiss me (I said no) and he asked for my number. I gave him the wrong number (hello! Stranger Danger!) but my aforementioned friend thought I was drunk and gave him my real number. He called two days later and we just kept on thumb wrestling.
How long did you date?
We dated for 4 years!
How/where did he propose?
He proposed in Vail. We had plans to go out there for a ski weekend on Presidents Day (which also was Valentines Day) with one of my college friends that lives in Denver. We were skiing down towards the back bowls and he said let's stop for a picture, even though there really wasn't a view. He got down on one ski and proposed.
How long were you engaged? Nineteen months. Since we were paying for the wedding on our own and we didn't want to go into debt. We saved up for the first year and spent it all the second. 09-18-2010 Yay anniversaries!!How we met:
We met in Jamaica on a business trip. We were both travel agents and were with a group of other agents doing hotel inspections. One night, the owner of the hotel hired a dj to play music for us and we were with very important hotel employees (The owner, CEO, Food and Beverage Director, etc etc) all dancing. Two of the head honchos started sandwiching me and I felt really uncomfortable and ended up walking up to Brian and asking for him to dance with me to save me from the 2 guys!
