oh i love short weeks so much!
i did some shopping with my mommy yesterday...mostly to just kill time and walk around and talk-not much actual purchasing..
i have a dr's appointment today...nothing special, but always nice to have the dr tell me everything is okay.

Good morning! I'm only awake because I have to be. Darn sleep deprived EEG. I only have to stay awake for another 3 and a half hours!

Happy Thursday! I feel like this day is going to drag on forever already.
Nothing exciting's going on over here.
I have a lady doctor appointment later today. Does anyone else really hate getting their annual? Oh and the stupid paper gown? *shudder* This is the one day a year that I wish I had a peener.
This.. already and it's only 8am.
I don't hate my lady appts. I look at it this way, she's gonna do something real quick, I barely feel it, and she'll make sure everything in that department is functioning and there are no issues. I appreciate it.
I hate the paper gown too.. it doesn't even make sense.
Maybe my doctor's not good at the exam or maybe I'm just being overly sensitive, but I always feel like I'm going to barf when she does the swab.
when the swab is goin' i always think i'm going to pee on dr's hands.

my doc takes under a minute to put the speculum (is that what it's called??) and to do the swab. i don't even feel when she's getting her samples... she is the bomb. seriously. she's super close to us too!
Mine's really quick too, but I can't help the barfy feeling.
Are you sure you'll have to get the whole deal? I went in last month for mine and my doc said since I'm in a committed relationship and hadn't had any abnormal paps in 5 years I didn't have to do the whole deal! I was elated. He said every 2 years now.
I don't mind the annual gyno appts, I feel a small pinch and usually get a little cramp, but that's it. I HATE the bi-annual dentist appts! My next dentist appt is next week, and I am dreading it!
DH had to get up a hour earlier than usual for work today, and for some reason that really threw off the rest of my day. I kept forgetting little things while I was getting ready this morning, and I can't believe it's only 9:00, it feels like it should be 11:00
I hope to keep busy and make the day go by as fast as possible.

Mine doesn't make you wear any sort of stupid paper gown. Then have those fabric hospital ones, which is nice.
If they only need to look below, then you only need to remove clothes between waist and ankles (I keep my socks on because my feet get sooo cold!) and they give you a fabric sheet to drape over yourself.
I'm more along Jennlin's line, I always feel a twinge like I have to pee.
Tonight we're going to the new 'hood for the annual neighborhood picnic. I'm expecting it to be fun to get to meet the majority of our new neighbors. And Salesman just came past my desk to ask me to go to a bid meeting tomorrow afternoon, which means I get to go home after it's done (off early, yay!)
i love getting my teeth clean and learning about them. i have 3 baby teeth which are doubling as adult teeth because there was nothing to grow in after them. so i'm happy to go. plus, it's generally an appt that i never hear bad news.
She told me every other year after I turn 30.
Apparently she thinks I'm a wh0ar.

I love short weeks too. I actually have Saturday off this week. Should be a really fun week end. Tonight I have a girls night at a friends house. Gosh I hate driving over 520 during rush hour. Keeping my fingers crossed for not too terrible traffic.

Already back from the gym and looking for things to do today while I wait for one of my textbooks to show up.

I have the day off and I am trying to figure out what I should do....I feel like going for a walk....but don't really like going alone. My house is in need of a deep clean, and I have "work" to do. I had the day off yesterday and took it as my first day off in a long time and was super lazy all day.....so today I need to accomplish something/anything. Just dunno what yet. Boo

this is kind of ridiculous, for real. If you are HPV negative, there's almost no chance of anything. I asked H about this and he said that the only other things you might get there's no test for really and/or are very rare. 30 is young for most things unless you have a family history or are HPV positive.
ETA: I will only be getting mine every 2 years and didn't start until I was sexually active for a couple years

I had periods that could kill a cow. I would spend almost 2 weeks in the fatal position - once I hit high school an attendance was an issue - docs decided BC was probably a good answer. It was however - my dad was military and military doctors suck and like to make your life a living hell. Therefore every year they would not renew my prescription for BC without an annual.
Just FYI (in case anyone wants to know) I had the same problem and went on BC when I was about 17 because of the pain and only had an exam once I was sexually active - requiring the exam has to do with not believing a teen is not sexually active and has nothing to do with medical necessity. *not saying you did anything wrong, kari, just annoys me that Dr.s 'require' something when the reason is not strictly medical*

even if you're just a CHILD? that is just wrong. i'm really hoping/praying that you had a female doctor. i will cry for you (and am tearing up thinking about it) if you had a male doctor.

Yes - even as a child, because you know - I'd see getting BC as my free ticket to be a wh0re.
I actually preferred the male doctors. The women seemed so cold and heartless and I think were WAY more judgy and brutal. They always had a second person in the room and for the first few times I had the option of keeping my mom in there.
........this makes me very very sad. i don't like the idea of male gynos working on children......i guess if you were comfortable, that's one thing...but the idea of it....creeps me out.
