We ran out of formula at home, so we went straight to milk and we aren't having any issues. The pedi told us yesterday he should be getting 16-20oz a day. I would like to get rid of the bottles, but he gets more milk that way. When he has a bottle in the morning and at bedtime, he will take 3-4oz. When he has milk in a sippy with meals, he *might* get 2oz. So I hesitate to get rid of the bottle in case he might not get enough. He's not super attached to the bottle, so I don't anticipate it being a huge issue to stop it. The pedi did say we can give more cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese to make up for it. What are your thoughts? Keep a couple bottles a day to increase milk intake or just ditch them? TIA!
Re: Another formula to milk question
My pedi is more in the camp of less milk, more food, so our cap is 12oz/day. (Milk has more sugars than cheese, etc.) I tend to agree with her or I'd do my own thing. lol! It helps to remember that his table food is the replacement for formula. Milk isn't. That and it's probably better to ditch the bottle sooner than later anyway, so that would be my $.02.
By the way, we got to play with Cam on Tuesday. He is SO ADORABLE. What a sweet little guy. You make the cutest kids.
Thanks! You're too sweet
