Fun Fall Activities

Any specific plans or fun activities for the fall?  We need some more idea's to enjoy the last bit of outdoor weather.

We are going to try and make it to the ren fest, mmmm cheesecake on a stick and turkey legs.

We just went to Clarks Elioak farm for a birthday party and it was hot and we were a bit rushed, but we'd love to go back when it gets cooler.

Re: Fun Fall Activities

  • We love haunted houses - usually go to the Baysox one and this year I want to try Heidi's Haunted Hills on Rte. 2. Last year we did a corn maze at Montpelier Farms off of 301. It was really fun and they had a ton of other activities for kids there too. I love going up to Larriland to pick apples. You could drive to Thurmont or the Deep Creek area to see the mountains and fall foliage.
  • we are going to try and go to both Renn Fest and Montpelier Farms down on 301 in Upper Marlboro. They have a pumpkin patch, hayrides, fun fall stuff like that etc.

I was just talking about the cheesecake on a stick yesterday :)

  • The Ren faire in PA is fun too. It's a little different than the Maryland one. I really liked it. I am going to try to get H to go to one of them this year, it's been awhile since we went to either. I think fall is a great time to host an easy party. Pumpkin carving (or painting/decorating for the littles). A nice Sunday afternoon, a big pot of soup, mac and cheese, hit apple cider. Lovely way to spend an afternoon.
  • There need to be more weekends in October frankly.

Hopefully we will go to Renfest on a nice weekend; we have a party at Clarks Elioak for the first weekend in October and my niece's birthday is a week or so later at farm/pumpkin patch in Middletown.  That's always fun and all nieces friends dote on DD - so its pretty cute.

Ummm - maybe come down to the DC Mall and walk around?

  • We always go to Larriland to pick apples and pumpkins.  They have activities there too on the weekends, although it can get crowded.

I agree. It's my favorite month and we never have enough time to get to do all the activities we want b/c our families both have a ton of birthdays in October and our anniversary is then too.

One of these years we will make it to Philly to go to the Eastern Penitentiary darnit!

  • I have nothing new to add but we are headed to Clarks Elioak and Larriland in the next month or so. We sometimes do Renn Fair too, but not this year I don't think.

I know which farm you're talking about. We usually go up there with my sister and her family. Does your family live in Middletown? I wonder if they know my sister.
