need help, cupcake related
i'm hosting a baby shower. the mom wants peanutbutter/chocolate cupcakes. i need a variety..
so what else would you make to pair with that? i'm making minis..

we're having twins!
Re: need help, cupcake related
i was thinking maybe just a vanilla cupcake with buttercream and red velvet with cream cheese?
my favs are triple coconut & smores. but she didn't seem so excited about those.
Hmm....I would probably do a basic Vanilla cupcake....with maybe some fancy frosting? Buttercream? Cream-cheese? Coconut?
Ooo maybe caramel would pair well with PB Choc
I instantly thought vanilla with buttercream before I read the other responses.
Caramel would be nice! What about maybe a strawberry cake w/ caramel frosting?
And then a nice white cake with plain buttercream and fancier decoration?
And speaking of cupcakes....when are you going to get some tips from your BFF to share with me!?!?
what kind of tips did you want? and from the one that works at cupcake royale or did you want me to talk to kelli morse?
wait what?! sarack - do you have insider info?! I love cupcakes.
I think I would do chocolate/peanut butter cupcakes and vanilla/almond cupcakes with a berry frosting.

she said they never asked her to not share the recipes... lol.
amanda- that almond one berry topping would make my husband oh so happy!
This sounds amazing. And the caramel.
I would maybe do something lemony.
Last time I made chocolate peanut butter cupcakes I paired them with margarita cupcakes, but that's just because my friends like booze and tequilla, lol.
I got a recipe from a friend and it's pretty good. I don't know if I did something wrong though because the frosting (while tasty) turned out really ugly. I'll have to try it again another time.

i thought about a lemony one. i love lemon.
vanilla cupcake with lemon frosting? or lemon and lemon? or lemon and raspberry buttercream?
omg, soo many damn choices!
Oh, Almond sounds yummy! I ADORE lemon curd, I would put a dollop in the center of the white one.
Wait...baby shower? Does she know what she's having? Do other people? I saw the CUTEST thing the other day where they revealed the sex of the baby at the babyshower by tinting the filling they put in the center of the cupcake, blue in their case
OMN! (oh my nestie!) They DIDN'T, I would just DIE to have that recipe (and their cake if she were inclined). I would still buy their cupcakes since well, I don't always want to bake nor do I want that many amazing cupcakes sitting in my house or I'd gain 30 pounds at least.
this idea may have convinced me to find out the gender! I've always wanted to wait until the baby was born, but this is such an adorable idea.

just to share how cute.
Oh, and Amandasw - I would love the recipe
those ARE cute, I love that idea
Here is the blog where I got them (side note: had a mini heart attack because it said the page was taken down, so I had to go over the WC board and page the blogger - turns our she just changed domains). Anyway, I made the salted caramel buttercream frosting and then her Guinness chocolate cupcakes (obviously didn't do the whole Irish car-bomb part for this, but would be fun another time!). It's the perfect combination because the chocolate is perfect and not too sweet and the frosting is also light but flavorful. I can't wait for another excuse to make them!
