pity party...missing Detroit

Well, mostly missing my honey.  I was just up there for the long weekend and it was wonderful!  Now I'm back in Houston and frustrated that my job search up there isn't moving anywhere.  I keep hoping that something will happen in time for me to get up there and enjoy some fall weather before it gets too cold!  Sigh...thanks for letting me vent ladies!

  • What type of job and in what area are you looking?

Right now I'm a Project Manager for a shareholder communications and printing company.  I have a degree in finance, and am willing to switch up the career a little bit for the right job.  My dream would be to work for a non profit, but I don't know if I can afford to do that quite yet.  I'm really open to anything in the greater Detroit Area...he lives on the east side, but I'm willing to have a bit of a commute, so Troy, Dearborn, Southfield...anything in those areas would be great (as well as downtown of course!)

  • I was going to suggest University of Michigan because there's such a wide variety of job types but the main campus is in Ann Arbor and that's probably too far.  They do have a Dearborn campus but the availability of jobs there is probably much more limited.

T&P that you find something soon!!!

  • I'm sorry to hear that you're sad.  I know the feeling!  My DH and I used to live "long distance" before we were married (it was only an hour and a half but it felt like forever).

     Good luck finding something!!!

  • Thanks!  It certainly isn't easy.  We've been 1100 miles apart since we met!  We've developed an amazing ability to communicate though since we only really get time "together" on the phone.
