FFFC's anyone?

It's 9:30 AM and I'm eating Cheez-Its.

That's all I've got....

Pregnancy Ticker

Re: FFFC's anyone?

  • Amanda, I love it!

One of my coworkers made an amazing diaper cake for me (I posted photos on HDBD thread). But she is a smoker and the diapers smell really bad - it's like a cross between AC Moore and second hand smoke. I kind of just want to throw the whole thing out.

  • Don't feel bad, Amanda, I'm drinking a full caffeine rootbeer b/c the Starbucks at my office was out of Chai.

Claire- I think I'd feel the same way, but I know how much diapers cost, so I don't know if I could actually follow through with it. :)

I can't think of a FFF for me right now.

  • claire, what about saving them for "emergencies"...putting a few in the back of your car, etc? besides, if you let them air for a bit they might get better. And you'll never notice once the baby pees. since we're like 50/50 in cloth/disposibles, I really notice the STINK of pee in disposables (esp b/c the ones i bought when we ran out of gifted newborn ones are unscented. We're almost out of those though so we just fold Avery into the size 1s when we use them).

Heather - full caffiene rootbeer? no idea that existed

My FFFC - we decided on a "cheap" day care.  I'm hoping it works out because its cheap enough we won't be eating raman. If it turns out to be a disaster, we'll need to a) scramble and b) be broke. like broke broke, b/c we'll just be semi-broke with this place Stick out tongue

  • Going off Cookie's FFFC-- I haven't dealt with daycare yet either because I'm secretly hoping to win the lottery. Money can just magically appear, right?

Ha thanks, I think I need to suck it up and deal with it. Denial is great. It's not really the whole visiting the places thing because it's not like we have tons of options. We don't really have many options at all since it's so freakn $$$$$$$.

  • At work this morning they brought in donuts and bagels.  Both were still warm from the bakery and I had one of each.

this really narrowed the options for us (and location, since we work in opposite directions).  I only actually went to this one place. I have two others in mind of it doesn't work out, but they're $200-300 more/mo/kid. I didn't bother calling the "nice" places (Goddard and co).

I recently heard that if you "invest" $100,000 you're likely to get a $200,000-2.14M return.  Some mathematical loop hole in the system? Saw it on tv about a month ago...

So... anyone got that extra cash lying around?

yeah, if you are looking at retirement...

  • I'm already annoyed at painting with Pat this weekend because I know he won't be any help and will be looking for any excuse not to do it (he's already mentioned two things that 'might' come up).  I know painting isn't his thing (and I do like it), but I won't get it done in two days without him.

  • Rick is so GD indecisive about baby #2 now that its pissing me off...We have missed the baby making days for this cycle because he thought I had to chart/temp for a couple months before we started trying...I told him yesterday that I will fudge this cycle with the doctors (let them think we had sex) but if we don't actively try the next 2 cycles I'm done with the meds until he is 100% ready to start trying...this go round on the meds is BRUTAL - my mood swings are NUTS, I've had major heartburn, headaches, and its just not fun.  While he agreed to the plan it still pisses me off that he is totally clueless about how you make a baby...

  • Those in the email group know my main FFFC.

My next one is that Andrew bought me a hair starightner for Xmas because the one I had was burning from the inside and was a fire hazard.  Anyway, he bought me a not so great one.  For my hair I need one that gets really hot.  Like 450 degrees hot in order for my hair to actually get straight.  Well, the one he got doesn't even have a temp dial.  I tried it a few times but my hair never straightened with it.  I just bought a good one (finally...after a year of going without!) and I was hoping he wouldn't notice and be sad.  He did!!  Sad  I feel bad because he really tried.

Barq's rootbeer has caffeine. That's the "bite" in their slogan " Barqs has bite."
  • I should have taken the whole day off, I'm thinking of everything but work and I really wanted to finish the book I was listening too because it's getting to the good part.  I want to skip work to read, wow.

I have an ipod player here so I could if I wanted to but I have to answer the phone and people see me a lot and I like to focus on the book.  I could try it without the headphones...

It's ridiculous how much daycare is up here!  We went to two places, started looking at two more and found out that one is $300 more per month than the other and one is $400 more!  we liked the first 2 enough that I think we're ruling out the second two without going at all.

  • We paid our 1st mortgage (whoo hoo only 359 payments to go!) last week and it did not hurt my bank account as much as I thought it would.

I have yet to talk to my SIL ever since she announced being PG.  Its probably better this way.

  • I'm looking forward to a week away next week for work I need alone time. DH is wondering why I'm not KU as I've been off the pill for 4 months, I am happy I'm not, as I'm still on the fence...

  • As soon as I found out we were moving to California, the baby rabies has almost disappeared.  However I love being off the pill, so I might quit charting and just see what happens for a while.  I'm sure if/when the time comes I'll be ready-ish.

Maybe it's because we'll be so close to wine country?

  • I have another one. I read alot of blogs (mostly H&F related). I comment on them and while I don't expect a response, I would like one esp if they ask questions at the end of their blog post. The more the blogger does not respond, the less I read and I take them off my google reader. If you ask question(s) and do not respond then why ask them? You took time to write the blog, take time to answer the question(s)!?!

  • I am annoyed with DH this week. Two times this week he watched Dylan while I was at work and both times dylan got hurt! Once he burned his little arm on dh,s mower. The exhaust was still hot. He says he took him away and told him it was hot but come on he is 1 and 1/2 you have to keep an eye on him! And then he was outside working on his truck and dylan was playing outside and I guess fell by the steps in the garage that lead to the house and banged his head up pretty good. I mean it looks much better now but the day it happened I was ready to kill RC! I told him that you can't just leave him be. You have to check on him he isn't old enough to just be on his own. I am just so frustrated with it all this week! Thank god dylan is ok and both injuries were not severe!

  • I think my sister is feeling really stressed out with the kids. Elena has hit the terrible twos, emanuel is fussy and she has to hold him and keep moving constantly or he screams like his leg is being cut off. And I kind of feel bad, but also kind of not. I know I can't really relate. This just makes me want a kid even less, for fear that I would get that fussy baby.
