Cupcake & frosting flavor ideas needed
I'm hosting my BFF's bridal shower on the 1st and am going to make cupcakes for it. Does anyone have a good recipe for pumpkin or pumpkin spice cupcakes and a cream cheese frosting to go with them? I would like to also have one other flavor...any ideas or recipes you can share?
The bridal shower is a old fashioned afternoon tea party with tea sandwiches, coffee, tea, water, small sweets (cake balls and maybe cream puffs or mini cheesecakes), and maybe some mini quiches. Her wedding is Oct 29th and she's going with a fall theme.

I've made this cake a few times http://clairecancook.blogspot.com/2009/11/halloween-pumpkin-cake.html both as cake and as cupcakes and always get rave reviews. It is super good. I think it was from a Real Simple originally. I don't have a recipe for frosting as I kind of love store bought. I am weird. But I did clip out Martha's recipe once upon a time http://www.marthastewart.com/282958/cream-cheese-frosting
For other flavors, I don't know - pumpkin is so classically fall! You could do apple spice? Or chocolate is always a winner :-)
I do have a good one, but it's in my email so I'll email it to you, should be easier to print that way:) It's some sort of adaptation from the Williams-Sonoma pumpkin spice cupcakes. Anyway, they're awesome.
I did both mini cupcakes and regular size. If you go with minis, make sure to bake for a few minutes less because they cook faster and dry out.
