Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

another LinkedIn question

Is it strange to go through people to get to a 3rd tier connection?  I'm still on the job hunt and I have a couple of 3rd tiers connections at a company I want to apply to.  Is it worth it, or should I just apply the old fashioned way?  I'm still pretty new to the LinkedIn world and don't want to put any of my "connections" in an awkward position.  TIA once again!

Re: another LinkedIn question

  • I would apply the "old fashioned way" and maybe send them a quick note on LinkedIn, it can't hurt.

  • You could also ask your mutual contact to introduce you. Or, I think you can send them a message (like on Facebook), even if you aren't "linked" to them. I might apply the old fashioned way and then follow up via Linked In. Good luck!
