It's 9:30 AM and I'm eating Cheez-Its.
That's all I've got....
Re: FFFC's anyone?
Amanda, I love it!
One of my coworkers made an amazing diaper cake for me (I posted photos on HDBD thread). But she is a smoker and the diapers smell really bad - it's like a cross between AC Moore and second hand smoke. I kind of just want to throw the whole thing out.
Don't feel bad, Amanda, I'm drinking a full caffeine rootbeer b/c the Starbucks at my office was out of Chai.
Claire- I think I'd feel the same way, but I know how much diapers cost, so I don't know if I could actually follow through with it.
I can't think of a FFF for me right now.
claire, what about saving them for "emergencies"...putting a few in the back of your car, etc? besides, if you let them air for a bit they might get better. And you'll never notice once the baby pees. since we're like 50/50 in cloth/disposibles, I really notice the STINK of pee in disposables (esp b/c the ones i bought when we ran out of gifted newborn ones are unscented. We're almost out of those though so we just fold Avery into the size 1s when we use them).
Heather - full caffiene rootbeer? no idea that existed
My FFFC - we decided on a "cheap" day care. I'm hoping it works out because its cheap enough we won't be eating raman. If it turns out to be a disaster, we'll need to a) scramble and b) be broke. like broke broke, b/c we'll just be semi-broke with this place
Ha thanks, I think I need to suck it up and deal with it. Denial is great. It's not really the whole visiting the places thing because it's not like we have tons of options. We don't really have many options at all since it's so freakn $$$$$$$.
this really narrowed the options for us (and location, since we work in opposite directions). I only actually went to this one place. I have two others in mind of it doesn't work out, but they're $200-300 more/mo/kid. I didn't bother calling the "nice" places (Goddard and co).
I recently heard that if you "invest" $100,000 you're likely to get a $200,000-2.14M return. Some mathematical loop hole in the system? Saw it on tv about a month ago...
So... anyone got that extra cash lying around?
yeah, if you are looking at retirement...

Those in the email group know my main FFFC.
My next one is that Andrew bought me a hair starightner for Xmas because the one I had was burning from the inside and was a fire hazard. Anyway, he bought me a not so great one. For my hair I need one that gets really hot. Like 450 degrees hot in order for my hair to actually get straight. Well, the one he got doesn't even have a temp dial. I tried it a few times but my hair never straightened with it. I just bought a good one (finally...after a year of going without!) and I was hoping he wouldn't notice and be sad. He did!!
I feel bad because he really tried.

I have an ipod player here so I could if I wanted to but I have to answer the phone and people see me a lot and I like to focus on the book. I could try it without the headphones...

It's ridiculous how much daycare is up here! We went to two places, started looking at two more and found out that one is $300 more per month than the other and one is $400 more! we liked the first 2 enough that I think we're ruling out the second two without going at all.
We paid our 1st mortgage (whoo hoo only 359 payments to go!) last week and it did not hurt my bank account as much as I thought it would.
I have yet to talk to my SIL ever since she announced being PG. Its probably better this way.
As soon as I found out we were moving to California, the baby rabies has almost disappeared. However I love being off the pill, so I might quit charting and just see what happens for a while. I'm sure if/when the time comes I'll be ready-ish.
Maybe it's because we'll be so close to wine country?
Yup, it's Barq's.
