Pregnant IN's - how's it going?
Hi all Pregnant IN's. I feel like almost everyone on this board is pregnant, so how's it going? Which trimester are you in? How are you feeling?
Any pregnancy trips/tricks to share?
I am contemplating going off my BC next March, but it's scary to take that step. DH and I talked about giving my body a few cycles to adjust and then start trying!
Just curious how all the lovely pregnant ladies on the IN board are feeling
P.S. CONGRATS TO ALL!

Re: Pregnant IN's - how's it going?
Thanks! I'm 8 weeks as of yesterday and feeling pretty horrible to be honest. We are really excited (it took us a year to get pregnant in the end) but right now, I'm just exhausted! So, so tired.
No tips or tricks yet although I'm frantically scanning the April 2012 board on the Bump for any tips on the exhaustion, it's just overwhelming. But overall, everything is fine!
Thanks for asking :-) I still think it's totally surreal to click on the pregnancy posts, it doesn't properly feel real yet! I really can't wait to start showing so at least everyone knows why I'm being so pathetic!

I'm 18 weeks and I feel pretty good now. I wasn't really sick or anything...just a little more tired than usual in the first trimester. I've had a few bumps in the road which aren't that easy when dealing with medical staff where English isn't their first language.
Mainly just wanted to say that I went off the pill in January and we were pretty careful until we decided to try. We had the 'ok let's give it a go' conversation and 3 weeks later I had a positive test. I find that you hear so many stories about people trying for a long time that we were totally shocked when it happened so fast. Just a heads up! Ha ha!
I am a former IN, but I still lurk and post on this board from time to time.
I am about 4 weeks and waiting on my second beta as we speak. I went through IF so I am extremely nervous and scared that this is too good to be true, but hopefully good news in the next few hours.
I'm 32 weeks right now and starting to feel like a whale! Haha, actually my belly isn't that big, but leaning over with the baby pushing up into my ribs is getting uncomfortable. I do feel like I have had a particularly easy pregnancy in that I've felt really great and full of energy since the end of first tri and I haven't put on a lot of weight. The energy is starting to putter out, but I'm still enjoying being pregnant to tell the truth!
As for tips I don't really know...for me I've been trying to accept help whenever people offer. I think it's easy to overdo it while pregnant because you don't want to accept that you're not as capable, but doing this led to me having braxton hicks contractions every 3 minutes and a trip to the emergency room one day...so, just take any and all help offered!
I would also ditto that if you're not ready to be pregnant when you go off the pill be very careful for those months you're waiting for your cycles to regulate. I actually didn't get pregnant our first month of trying (the second, still very fast!) but it's definitely possible even though it seems like you're always hearing stories of people trying for months.
Congratulations! I'll keep my fingers crossed that betas look great.
I'm in the second trimester and still trucking along. Feeling pretty good except for the lower back/rear end pain. Had it first pregnancy and have it this time. Part of it is due to a running injury.
Tip - keep working out. At least walk and stretch. It helps with energy and all the strain on the body as your entire being adjust for carrying the munchkin. I'll admit that it feels hard but ultimately I feel better for doing it.
Another tip - prenatal massage rocks. So do extra pedicures.
Just so you know, it doesn't always take a few cycles to adjust. Some people yes. Some people get on the pill to get regular then when they get off immediately go into TTC. Just be prepared that it could be fairly quick.
I'm just over the 8 week mark. So far things have been rough at times, but having gotten meds from the doctor to help with the nausea has made my life a million times better!
One thing I've learned is no matter what don't let yourself get to exhausted, it makes the nausea worse!!! Even though I was on my meds after we got back from our two week trip, the first two days home were terrible!!!
I have less energy now than usual which isn't great but I can live with it. I keep telling myself that as long as the baby is healthy and growing I can get over myself and live with the miserable-ness

Naps have become my life-saver!! I take them usually in the afternoon, and even sometimes as late as 5, just before supper time. Usually only for an hour but it makes the world of a difference!

I'm 26 weeks and so far all is well. I've had no morning sickness and very few instances of nausea/dizziness which have really been to not eating enough, it being hot, and I have low blood pressure. I was extremely tired at times during my first trimester, but have definitely had more of my normal energy level back.
Tips: I had read that a lot of people feel nauseous from their prenatal vitamins so I take mine when I'm going to bed. I also invested in some maternity clothes from Old Navy on my last trip home and that has made getting dressed less upsetting as I have a few cute choices now.
As others have said, coming off birth control is different for everyone. I got pregnant quickly while not NOT trying, but know someone else who it's been more than a year. So just know it can be different for everyone.
Good luck to you!
I'm nearing the end of my second trimester, and so far, things have been pretty good. I have been waking up from leg cramps and really bad dreams for the past two nights though.
Tips: Make sure you have an OB that you're really happy with. Here in Germany, you have to have a midwife, but still deal quite a bit with your OB. I am so thankful to have changed my OB before getting pregnant. It really changes the quality of your pregnancy.
Other than that, expect the unexpected. And good luck!
Thinking of you and hoping that you hear good news!
Thank you! Just heard 30 minutes ago- 871! which is an awesome number so we scheduled an u/s for next week!
I'm 30 weeks so starting to get into the home stretch here in 3rd tri. I wouldn't say I've had a terrible pregnancy so far, but it hasn't been easy, and I don't love it like I thought I would. I'm a teacher and I just went back to school this week, and the back, hip, and foot pain is really getting to me. I get home every day feeling like I just ran a marathon. It's also been very, very difficult for me emotionally. I've been better lately but the pregnancy has been an emotional roller coaster.
I have not gained any weight so far, and I always thought pregnant women got tired and had back pain from all the extra weight, but that is not true. The pregnancy hormones do all sorts of weird things to your body!
As far as tips, don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Even if you don't look pregnant yet it is okay to say "I'm pregnant and xyz is really hard right now, could you give me a hand?" Don't push yourself too hard. I used to take pride in working extra hard, going without much sleep, and living on caffeine. When you're pregnant you're sharing your body and during that time, it's just not worth it to neglect yourself, because it affects the baby too. (I know that is super obvious, but I never thought of it that way until I got pregnant.)
Oh, and this is really hard but everyone says not to buy too many newborn clothes, because a) you will get them as gifts, lots of them and b) your baby won't fit in them for very long (or not at all if it's a big baby!) I've been working on not doing this, which is hard because newborn stuff is SO FREAKING CUTE
Good luck with TTC! And sorry for the novel, I had no idea I had so much to say!
Great news Shirz!!
Sorry you're feeling so terrible! I actually think that if you haven't gained any weight then your weight has shifted and you really are carrying more weight in the front which would definitely cause back pain. Consider that the placenta alone can be a pound or so, then add in amniotic fluid and the actual baby plus an extra liter of blood pumping through your veins--it's gonna make you uncomfy!
Anyway, stretches have really helped me with back pain -- especially one where you get on all fours and arch your back like a cat. When that fails a massage from DH usually helps. I've also heard sitting on an exercise ball helps with back and hip pain. I hope you get to feeling better, but I know it must be difficult with all the standing you must do as a teacher!
I am just over 9 weeks along and I have been feeling very good. Just definitely more tired than usual. I have not had much nausea or anything so I am feeling very lucky.
As others have said, going off bc is different for everyone. I was on the pill for about 5/6 years and my cycles went right back to normal when I went off. But although my cycles were normal, we were still dealing with unexplained IF and went through 2 IVF cycles to get where we are now.
