Does anyone have any creative ideas for an office appropriate Halloween costume? I?ve really like my last 2 costumes but nothing?s coming to me this year.
Last year I was a loofah (bought 12 yards of tool & ?fluffed? it around myself & added a rope to the front just wore all black under it & a shower cap on my head) & the year before I was a Christmas Tree (wore an actual Christmas Tree skirt (that goes under the tree) with brown tights & a green t-shirt with Christmas lights hot glued onto them (& actually plugged myself in when I was at my desk). The shirt also had ornaments on it & I wore a star on my head)
Last year my husband was a ?cereal? killer (mini cereal boxes sewed to a shirt with plastic knives & red paint sticking out) it was cute so I always have this as a back up.
Re: Easy adult Halloween idea?
A girl here at work did a nudist on strike for she dress in clothes to cover her up and just made a sign saying nudist on strike. It was super cute, another woman came as Martha Stewart, had a blue shirt on and a basket full of goodies with a hand cuff attahced to her and the basket.
My brother was "God's Gift to Women." He dressed in regular clothes and tied a ribbon around his neck. He attached an oversized tag to the ribbon that said "To: Women, From: God." He got a lot of laughs.
One of my coworkers dressed up as roadkill. She used made a poncho out of black felt and put white tape down the middle to simulate a road. Then cut a stuffed animal in half and glued it to the "road" along with red paint for blood. That was a little gross, but I got a kick out of it.
Another coworker dressed up in a blue sweatshirt and glued cotton balls to it. She carried around a spray bottle filled with water. When people asked her what she was, she sprayed water in the air and said "cloudy with a chance of rain."
Someone else dressed up as the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. He wore a white puffy jacket and white sweats with a sailor hat.
My sister dressed up as Blue from Blues Clues one year when she worked at the library. Blue sweatsuit and blue socks attached to hair clips. She painted her face blue and attached spots to her body to match the spots on Blue.
I've been a zombie several times. Tear up a white shirt and old sweats. Roll them in the dirt and splash red food coloring on them to simulate blood. Rat your hair to make it stand up, and make other areas look stringy and gross. Use light and dark foundation to give your face/neck a mottled look. Use black and gray eyeshadow to darken the areas around your eyes and mouth (make sure to go darker towards the middle, lighter towards the outside). Use red lip liner to make broken capillaries on your face and neck. Use red lipstick to make wounds on your face/neck. Darken the center of the wounds with black eyeshadow. Grosses people out all the time.
One of my daughters was a galaxy one year. She wore black and had those wire garlands with stars on them wrapped around her.
I love the Christmas tree idea. Wearing a Christmas tree skirt makes me think of the episode of Designing Women where Charlene has her baby and Bernice is wearing the Christmas tree skirt (which she thought was a Christmas tree, skirt) that Mary Jo had given her.
I was a popsicle once, my legs were the sticks of a grape twin pop.
