Soooo we finally got a Sephora. And I'm verry excited. My bank account, however, not so much.
I went in looking for a "grown up" skin care line. I've pretty much just used drug store brand (Clean & Clear or Aveno) or whatever freebie came with my clinique/estee lauder GWP. Their was a lady in the store who is a trainer for Perricone and she was so knowledgable and really sold me on the products. There are some that are very $$$ but she didn't try to push anything crazy on me and made multiple comments about how nice my skin was, I wouldn't need much, etc.
Has anyone tried his stuff? Is there another brand that you love??
Oh! And make up snobs--what do I HAVE to have now that Sephora is so convenient?? TIA!
Re: Perricone MD Skincare Products? Any other recs?? Make up snobs too!!!
Count me in for skincare snob, and one who loves make up at that!
I have never tried Perricone products, but I absolutely love Philosophy products, which are sold at Sephora. Specifically, I love the Makeup Optional Skin Care kit and the Great Skin is In kit. If you like to exfoliate, I am obsessed with the Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash-- I use it every other day. I'm in the camp that believes you can never start using anti-aging products too early, and I've been using their stuff since I was about 24. I really truly believe it is part of the reason I have younger-looking skin.
Make sure you get a loyalty card when you shop there. My sister just got her free birthday gift for the year and it was pretty substantial for a free gift. You also get little bonuses here and there, which are a great way to sample things.
The one thing I love about Sephora is they carry a lot of kits for trying things out. For instance, my sister got me a mascara sampler for Christmas and I loved it (still using some of them)-- 6 mini-mascaras from all the popular brands for about $30, so you can try them all and find your favorite.
They also carry something called All Eye Need, which is a $170 value kit for $35 bucks with all the things you'd need for an eye collection.
Sephora brand makeup, IMO, isn't as fab as the other brands they carry but is very affordable. If you're really looking to revamp your collection and want a little of everything, you absolutely cannot beat the Sephora Collection Makeup Studio Blockbuster. http://tinyurl.com/4xgcmg5
I also like their fragrance sampler-- 10 fragrances to try out, plus a voucher for a full size bottle of whichever you liked best, for $50. I often gift this to people.
Have fun shopping!!!

Another Philosophy vote. I use their regular foaming face wash with my Clarisonic and I absolutely love it. The combination of those two has actually managed to tame my hormonal acne which seemed impossible. My skin looks sooo much smoother now. I use their matte sunscreen moisturizer and that's another one of my favorites.
I like a lot of Urban Decay stuff. Their primer potion for eyeshadow is great and it comes in different colors now. I think I have Sin and Eden and your eyeshadow and eyeliner seriously will not budge.
I also just got the Urban Decay Naked palette of eyeshadows this week and it's absolutely amazing. I wear a lot of neutrals so this was perfect for me and I think their eyeshadow has such good pigment. You get a lot of eyeshadow for $50. It's a great deal and it seems like it's no longer impossible to find so there's another added bonus. Smashbox has good pigmentation too.
Eyeliner pots are my new BFF. I don't know why I stayed away from gel eyeliner for so long out of fear that it wouldn't look as good as a pencil. I get so much closer to my lash line and it has much better staying power. I use Buxom brand now and I think it actually has lash conditioner in it so it's even better that I can get so close to my eyelashes. If you do like pencils, the Urban Decay pencils go on really smooth and have good staying power. I'm wearing Rockstar today which is a deep purple. Looks good with brown eyes
Nars blushes are great. If you use a primer before your foundation Smashbox Photo finish works reallly well. I also just tried the Sephora brand primer as a sample and I was surprised how well it worked. Like Star, I usually don't think much of the Sephora brand but it worked well and it's $20 cheaper.
I'm a little bit of a makeup whore so I love trying different things. I wish we had a Sephora near us!
I had a brief lesson from Jaay right after my bronzer sank in the super lavish toilet and she schooled my on why Casperdy's was amazing. I think hers was Nars?
Darn. Now I need a clairisonic too. I guess I better get a 2nd job.
I love my Clarisonic.
I also use Murad products. I use them specifically for my sensitive skin/roseacea, but I know they carry different lines based on your skin type. I love Murad.
I use the Sephora brand mineral makeup as it was on clearance and cheaper than Bare Minerals, even for just a short while.
I use Pores-no-More (Can't remember the brand) as a primer and its amazing! Makes my skin so smooth. I have such HUGE pores and this really helps.
And blinc mascara - its awesome. I rarely wore mascara before because it would always, always give me dark undereyes by the end of the day. Not this stuff. It doesn't budge.
