I haven't quite mastered the sewing machine to my mom's level (she made the window treatments and bedskirt for the nursery) but I do have some level of comfort with it thanks to her. So I made some flannel receiving-type blankets and I really love how they came out!

part 2 of my projects is a new insert for the hamper we'll be using. I have just about everything I need but I haven't started yet so pictures of that to come next week probably!

Thanks ladies!
I just kind of winged (?) it. I just bought 2 yards of each fabric, folded them in half (so the good sides of the fabric face each other), sewed all of the edges minus a section a little bigger than the width of my hand so that I could turn it right side in. Then I ironed them so the edges were even and flat and then sewed around all 4 edges to finish it off (including tucking in the edges by the hole so that it looked the same as the rest)
Sounds pretty simple! I would really like to get a sewing machine in the near future and this sounds like the perfect project!
Super simple. Thanks! I'm so excited to make stuff for my friends' baby and I think I will make some of these. I think I might do something similar with some batting in the middle to make it more like a real blanket, too.
