Saw Apollo 18 yesterday

Me and DH were the only ones in the theater. About 15 minutes into the movie I realized why: the plot is boring. I don't know why I thought a horror movie about astronauts on the moon would be entertaining. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?

Re: Saw Apollo 18 yesterday

  • There were 4 of us in the theater. It was awful. Dh fell asleep, I wanted to leave and get our money back after about 30 min, but dh didn't want to wake up. It was annoying to watch and boring. A waste of a date night.
  • I saw it at the drive-in, we see all bad movies there because we can talk and laugh at the movie :)

The first part was incredibly slow and boring. It got slightly better but was still not very good. It was supposed to be like a Blair Witch in Space but didn't quite work...

If you want to see a decent horror movie, Fright Night is much much much much better- but for some sad reason is making much less at the box office.

I think what made Blair Witch good, and what makes a lot of horror films good, is that by some sort of stretch of the imagination, you feel like it could happen to you. I'm never going to the moon, but I may go camping in haunted woods.

Thanks for the tip on Fright Night. I'm going to check it out!

I think that's because, for some reason, it's not playing in any theaters!

As I mentioned in the Fright Night thread, NONE of my local theaters were playing it when I went to see it last weekend.
