For any of you interested:
H had his out Thursday and I had mine out Friday. He was put under anesthesia and did fine! He took IBU800 for the first night and went to work Friday morning and hasnt taken anything since for pain, just an antibiotic for prevention and were both using a medicated rinse. I was completely awake for mine so I have a bit more of a story to tell. The numbed me up so much, I had 12 injections 3 in the PDL (think tonsil area) 1 injection near each tooth to be extracted and then use of the ligajet which is an SOB! Its a teeny needle that goes between the tooth and gum tissue in 3 spots around each molar and man does it hurt! and once we got started I needed another injection on the top left. The top molars came out real easy and clotted right away. The bottom molars each broke off a root tip so he had to dig for both. He only had to suture the bottom right and they will disolve after 7 days. All other clotted great. Im not much of a bleeder. He however bled almost all night and the next morning. Ive been taking a steriod and Vicodin every six hours and doing well infact were eating soft solid foods (ie. breads, noodles) We nap occasionally but weve been alert and even went to Miejer today. There was a grand reopening and we went to use this $5off coupon and play some games where we won some prizes and got free ice cream sundaes! Yum. Right now H is napping. Sorry if some of that was a bit graphic I just thought Id let you girls know were doing great!
Re: Wisdom teeth Update
Ouch! I was awake for 2, and asleep for the other 2. (I did the top and bottom left first, then the right) I remember the surgeon giving me nitrous for when I was awake, and when it came time for the injections, I was giddie as a child. He made a buzzing sound, said there was a mosquito in the room, told me to open up, and "bit" me. I only remember being aware of 2 on top and 2 on bottom. After every "mosquito bite" he gave me more nitrous. I was high as a kite. The other, I obvioulsy don't remember lol
Oh, and for the record. I was 20 when I had them removed. This oral surgeon has pulled 9 other of my teeth (1 baby, 4 molars, and 4 bicuspids because my jaw is tiny!) so he apparently still thinks I'm 9, when those first 9 were pulled.
