Anyone ever had moldy window frames?
Devyn's room has been smelling like mold for 2 days and we couldn't find the source until earlier this evening. It seems to be coming from under his windowsill. There are no signs of mold other than the smell so it must be all under there. I am scared it could be in the drywall too.
I smelled around and it seems like his other window and the two windows in Luke's room have a slight mold smell as well, not quite as bad yet as the one window.
I am completely freaked out.. when it comes to mold, I don't joke around.. specially in the kids rooms.
Has anyone ever had this happen? What did you have to do? Whatever you did, did it take care of the problem? What was the cost?
I am worried we have to replace all the windows and rip out the dry wall. I don't even want to think about it, one thing after another breaks and I have no idea how to pay for all that crap anymore.

I just wanted to say be VERY careful with any "mold remediators" / contractors you talk to. I am in the environmental field and these guys are unregulated and really prey on homeowners fears. They will convince you that you need thousands of dollars of remediation when in reality you can solve the problem yourself by sealing out the source of moisture and investing in some bleach.
My advice would be to get a few different opinions. Good luck and I hope its nothing.
