Who has the shank?

I am in serious need of it at the moment.  Our circuit breaker has tripped five times so far today.  Make that six--it just happened again.  I am not running far fewer electrical appliances than usual.

The breaker tripping has happened just once before--last Saturday.  The only thing these two days have in common is that it sounds like someone is operating a jack hammer on the floor of the unit directly above ours.  I have no idea what they are doing up there but it's effing with my electricity and is driving me insane.  The management office is closed on weekends so I can't go complain until tomorrow.

F*CK.  Seven.

Re: Who has the shank?

  • Would so give it to you. What the heck are they up to? And what the heck are they thinking??? A jackhammer all weekend does not sound fun at all.

  • I have no clue what they are doing or why it's causing my breaker to trip.  It just happened again though.  I think I need to leave the flat.  This is driving me insane.
  • Any chance you can go for some retail or spa therapy?

  • Augh, that sounds annoying. It used to happen to us in our apartments in China all the time, this one in particular. We got so annoyed with having to attempt to call an electrician every single time that we bought some copper wire and had the electrician show us how to re-wire the burned out circuit ourselves. We'd be out there at least twice/week with one of us holding a candle and the other re-wiring the breaker for the entire floor. Our neighbours thought we were super beings.

This sounds like a sight to behold.  Did your neighbors come knock on your door whenever the power went out?

  • The jackhammering has stopped but the electricity is still going out periodically.  I've come to the conclusion that they set up a greenhouse to grow pot and are using my electricity to operate it, thus tripping my breaker.

    Probable or crazycakes?

Go outsie at night and see if there is a "glow" coming from the apt.  My neighbor in the states was growing and his place looked like it was radioactive at 3 AM.
