Alycia? Others with prek experience too...
There is this one prek teacher in my town who does such an excellent job of preparing kids. Most of the others..well no. She is also friends with my DH and therefore my Facebook friend. I want to write her a little note along the lines of,"Thanks so much for the wonderful work you do with your kids -- once again it is glaringly obvious who came from your class." But, obviously, I don't want it to come across as "all your coworkers suck." How would you suggest I let her know she's awesome? Help me with wording!

I would just let her know specifically what her students have come to kindergarten well prepared for. By telling her how well prepared her students are you will be letter her know that she is doing a better job then her coworkers lol. It is amazing how little some preschool teachers expect of their preschoolers. I am always amazed at how much my students actually learn during their preschool years.
Oh I agree! I was at a PD recently and was actually flabbergasted by how little some of the teachers think of their students and what they are capable of.
I know our state intervention isn't ideal, but I feel so lucky to have the training we will be having. It seems like it will be great literacy "stuff." I have this binder of prek reading lessons I'll have to copy and share with you. They are meant for prek, but perfect for K and even 1.
